Review summary

I and a few other people were not allowed to get on the cruise ship. Although it was 4:45pm, the ship was scheduled to leave at 6pm, we were told it was too late to embark. We were then told that we had the option of meeting the cruise ship in Falmouth, Jamaica which we agreed to. However when we arrived at the terminal in Falmouth, we were told that the cruise was cancelled. I spoke to an MSC agent in Jamaica who was not helpful; we were stranded in Jamaica. There was no sort of communication, I did not receive a courtesy email or phone call from the cruise line. We had to return home. So much for a vacation!!!

If airplane leaves at 6 you can't board at 6. There is a cutoff time for ships just like for planes. It just happens to be a longer time prior. Besides, why would you want to miss 1/2 day of your cruise by being late?

Why do people not read their documents and then complain that they were never notified and no one told them? It states on the MSC website and in document you receive when booking the cruise that the boarding times for US cruises is 2 hours before departure.

What was your official boarding time? Don’t usually set sail until after muster drill, so a cut off is set.

Sorry to hear that.

There is a cutoff time that you must arrive before. Muster drill is done before you leave. Not sure why you didn't know what time you had to board.
