Review summary
What an amazing week! The Armonia is a classy ol' girl full of charm & character... and currently has some of the best crew we have ever experienced in 29 cruises- which is saying a lot as we really haven't had a bad cruise... a disappointing cruise or two, but never a bad cruise. Sailing 6 different cruise lines, we feel the lines are more similar than they are different- but there are a few front runners. Embarkation was easy peasy, almost as smooth as debarkation today. We noticed the ship was warm in certain spots the first day and a half, but after that, temperature was never an issue for us. We were a bit worried after the show on embarkation night as it resembled a high school musical, but every show after was very interesting- a welcomed change to the mainstream cruise line shows. The "cruise staff" were all wonderful & entertaining, we got to know each personality & enjoyed seeing them every night... our CD, Kevin, was also entertaining & visible throughout the cruise. We aren't buffet people, but my husband enjoyed the breakfast & pizza very much. Surf & Turf, the ships only specialty restaurant, was very good- side dishes were underwhelming, but the steaks were perfectly cooked. The MDR was good, we found the food tasty, but normally overcooked (we figured it was from sitting under a heat lamp?). Our Aurea suite was spacious & offered excellent closet/storage space. We aren't pool deck people, but for a small ship it seemed to accommodate all the passengers. Top 13 was just our speed- private and peaceful w/ loungers, small cabanas, & tables/chairs. The Easy Package was included in our experience, & was sufficient as we aren't frozen/froufrou drink people. The Coffee drinks in Cafe San Marco were amazing! The internet worked remarkably well, probably the best wifi I've had on any ship. I was a bit disappointed w/ the picture quality, most seemed fuzzy, possibly because they were touched-up? The clearest pictures were black & white photos. The Captain & Officers were visable throughout the cruise, they always went out of their way to say hello & ask how we were enjoying everything- you can tell they take pride in their positions & enjoy working for MSC. We prefer small to medium size ships, so we are extremely excited the Armonia is repositioning to our homeport in Tampa! We are giving the larger MSC ships a try- Divina in March & Seaside in May. I'll share my Armonia album once it's uploaded!
