I would only recommend MSC Armonia if you are going in with eyes wide open. It lacks the ship experience that we have had on other cruise lines, but it was economical. Food was poor, moving of people on and off the ship poor, staff overall good, some even excellent.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Overall Food quality was poor. (Dinging Room as well as buffet) Under seasoned, dried out, poor serving temperatures. French toast must have been left over from the day before, hard as a rock. Shrimp cocktail served too warm for our taste. We were concerned for food poisoning. The main protein in each main dinner dish was either too scant or overcooked.
Drink quality was good. (We purchased the easy package - it was misleading as to what that actually covered. Example: I could be a rum and coke, but not a mojito, or frozen drink, I could get a vodka & lemon but, not a bloody mary.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pool was nice. Plenty of pool chairs
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Most of the entertainment matched up to most 7 day cruises except for: they did not feature a comedian one night and the poolside music was only 1 musician, not a band.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
- Food Servers were very good. (Food was bad)
- Bar staff was very good.
- Room Steward was good.
- Customer service desk could have been a little more helpful. My husband had to visit the desk 3 times to get a charge on our account resolved.
- Disembarkation and returning to the ship needs to be ordered better in the ports of call. Lines were way too long. We lost time on all of our excursions due to disembarkation lines. Even the ones that we booked thru MSC.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Average for an older ship. Some disruptive patterns. The dining room was used as a major traffic flow even during dinner.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Cabin was very clean and maintained well thru the week. Size is what we expected of it.
Ship tip
Look for a great bargain price when booking. This does not give you the experience that the other major lines do, but it still gets you to the same ports.
