Review summary

It was very disappointing that the captain and RC deemed it okay to sail during Hurricane Rafael. They knew the days at sea would be miserable for those sensitive to motion sickness but they just cared about making their money by completing the trip. We could not enjoy any of the outdoor activities at the top deck because of strong winds and rocking of the ship. The pools literally sloshed back and forth. It was impossible to play any of the sports because you had to stay close to hand rails. I slipped on some of the outdoor stairs due to them being wet from sea water spray and bruised my bottom. The captain said we can get motion sickness remedies from the medic center and guest services but they will only give you 1 packet at a time and they seemed bugged having to get it for you. I just don’t understand the need to move forward with the cruise to Cozumel that is only half a day and spend two miserable nights and days at sea.

Found hair under my plate of fried eggs. Main dining was nice. Buffet was mediocre.

Ship tip

Make sure there’s no hurricanes because they will go forward with the sail even if everyone feels miserable from motion sickness.

Late for a hurricane. Sorry this was your situation but there isn’t a lot of options. They keep you safe but people want their vacation.

Thanks for sharing your cruise experience. Sorry it didn’t meet your expectations. You can encounter rough seas any time of the year. We were on Symphony of the Seas out of Miami and the seas and winds were very rough. The ship was really rocking. The pools looked like wave pools and they had to close them periodically. Funny thing is, the sun was out the whole cruise. Motion sickness bags were put out for passengers. We were not sailing during hurricane season either. We still had a great cruise. We are always prepared with motion sickness medication. Sounds like cruising may not be for you.

It’s a ship and weather happens, particularly when sailing during hurricane season.
