We did the Halloween cruise to celebrate my Halloween birthday! This was my sister-in-law’s first cruise and she had a blast!

We haven’t cruised out of Galveston since the Royal Caribbean terminal was built. It was really nice. We had a junior suite this cruise so embarkation was fast.

We always enjoy trivia/music trivia. We ended up in the napkin folding class which was fun but challenging!

The ice skating show was fun! The guitar player in the pub was really good. Family Feud was also enjoyable and Love & Marriage was a riot. (Best longest married contestants we’ve seen!)

We hadn’t been on Mariner before but it’s similar to several other RC ships we’ve been on. It’s an older ship but I kind of like the older ship charm!
Cabin / Stateroom

This cabin is a junior suite with a balcony. It had a large walk-in closet, extra storage space and a bathtub. (A little wear and tear in the bathroom.) The upgraded toiletries were nice. (Separate shampoo, conditioner and body wash instead of the all in one.) I bring my own but I used the body wash and some of the conditioner. There is lotion in the bathroom as well. We really enjoyed having a coffee maker!
Ship tip
You can see the bridge by going to the front of the ship. Go out the sliding doors on the pool deck. There are windows you can look through to see the bridge and the crew.
My sister-in-law and I did the RC Tequila Mixology excursion at Dolphinarius. It was SO much fun! We learned to make a margarita, jalapeño margarita, a pink Paloma, and a mango hibiscus mojito. It was my birthday so the also mixed up a special shot for everyone. (It was like a tasty mini drink.) We also made guacamole and they gave us tortilla chips, a quesadilla, taquito and a jalapeño popper. We made two drinks and guacamole and the gave us time to sip the drinks and eat the snacks. When we were done, we made the other two drinks. They emailed us the drink recipes a few days after the class.
My sister-in-law and I did the RC beach excursion. I have done this excursion several times and I really like the beach and the service there. The excursion is 5 hours but they give you a wristband and put you in a taxi if you want to go back before the shuttle returns.
