Review summary

Because of the excellent service on a ship that was impeccably maintained our first ever cruise will not be our last. We are very thankful for Marlon, Eugenia and Carlos and we will never forget them.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The organization and process for loading 4,000 passengers on time was exceptional.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room and the buffets were wonderful. The food was excellent and the wide variety was beyond our expectations. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pools and hot tubs were enjoyable, but there were too many kids.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stephanie Parker was outstanding and the ice show was good, and though we did not attend it, I do not know why you need to have an "adult only" comedian whose material was too offensive for everyone to hear it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our steward, Marlon was wonderful! His attention to detail and making us comfortable was matched only by his smile. He went out of his way to make our first cruise something we will never forget. Also, in the main dining room (table 352), Eugenia our waiter and Carlos were superb! There service was outstanding and they took time to engage with us to the point that we felt like they were family. We took pictures with them so we will never forget our new friends.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I could not believe how the staff cared for and maintained the Mariner of the Sea so well. Their attention to detail was amazing. I could not have been more impressed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was our first cruise and we were prepared for a tiny, uncomfortable room, but that was not the case. We were amazed at the detailed design of our cabin that provided more than enough space for us to be comfortable. The mattress was too hard, but that is the only negative comment I can make. Our steward, Marlon took great care to clean our cabin daily in a manner that was beyond our expectations.

Ship tip

Do it! And be prepared to be impressed by the staff in ways you never thought possible.
