Smoking killed the cruise for me. That was the part I did not understand, why common areas allowed it. in such a small casino there was only smoking or you couldn't play the machines you wanted. It sucked. The rest was good.
Embarkation

We paid for the Key but it didn't really get us anything extra, especially when getting on/off the ship. Staff were pushy at times getting on the cruise ship and not patient with people who were on their first cruise and had questions.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Service was exceptional. Food was good but nothing all that special or thrilling.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Too many of the activities were "sales" pitches. Promotions for free gifts were actually a way to get people to spend money. Not enough variety. No big shows like they advertised. Smoking was allowed in the pool area and casino so I couldn't spend much time in those locations due to breathing problems. Wall to wall no seating at events due to lack of variety of events or lack of events at the same time.
Entertainment

LOUD - try turning down the mics and music so it can be heard. a lot of it was so loud it had the fuzzy speaker sounds making it harder to hear and enjoy. The shows were only once or twice the whole trip so when I fell ill the first and last night I couldn't see any of the shows.
Service and Staff

Amazing staff. No one on the ship was rude, and all were more than helpful to us.
Ship Quality

There were some places that could be touched up, it shows its age. But also there were times when common areas were not as clean as they could have been and the smoking made it feel dirty in the casino and pool areas.
Cabin / Stateroom

There were issues with the pillows and bed with sleeping, causing some neck issues, but otherwise okay.
I loved this port and the excursion to Punta Sur. The tour guide was great. I felt that Kyle from Effy was pushing for us to shop in only certain stores which happened to be overpriced compared to other places. I think that the cruise ship/planners are just trying to get people to spend money in those places for the kickbacks.
Ive said have a ship of non-smoking!!! I was on a carnival cruise so many smoking. 2 on elevator then said it wasn’t us??!! As the doors opened and out rolled the smoke!!
