The cruise overall was great, good food, great staff, everything was good! We did encounter some mild weather but all in all, everything the ship offered was great! Mariner of the Seas is definitely a fantastic ship!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
On embarkation day, they were doing their annual Coast Guard inspection, but despite that, it was very organized and a very simple process from getting out of the car to getting on the ship!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was fantastic at Jamie’s and Izumi Hibachi! As well as the Windjammer and the Main Dining Room, however sometimes the food in the Windjammer would be a hit or miss, in terms of how well cooked the food is but nonetheless, no complaints!
Izumi
5 out of 5
Izumi Hibachi is a must do! The food was fantastic along with the show the chef did. The food is honestly I believe, the best food I’ve ever tasted on a cruise! Like I said, Izumi Hibachi is a MUST DO!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
I liked everything the ship offered, like the Flowrider, water slides, rock climbing wall, etc. However, who scheduled the events didn’t do a good job. The main show and the ice show would preform at the same time. Laser Tag was only on two days, embarkation day and a very busy port day. Plus if you woke up early in the morning or stayed up late at night, there was nothing to do as well as everything closed at about 9:00pm.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were very, very good along with the variety acts they had onboard! However, didn’t get to see the ice show since it was scheduled at times were we couldn’t go but all the main stage shows were fantastic!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff and the service onboard was fantastic! Our room attendant was fantastic! Along with our waiter and the assistant waiter, both were fantastic! The service was very, very good as well!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship’s layout and design were perfect! The ship isn’t big but it’s not small, it’s the perfect size with a lot of things to do! All of the areas on the ship were clean, however, some people would leave their trash in the elevators and in plain sight in the main areas of the ship but all were cleaned up, the crew really do a amazing job!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Fantastic cabin and with a amazing view! It’s over the port bridge wing so you basically also have a view of the front of the ship! Definitely a very nice spot of watching the ocean or the ship come in!
Very great island! Great food, a ton of things to do, as well as the island is very easy to navigate! Even with another ship there, it didn’t feel crowded!
This port was fantastic! We did Curaçao Highlights and Beach Fun tour and it was great looking at all what Curaçao has to offer, than they took us to a very touristy beach but they reserved chairs for us and all in all, it was still fantastic! I would definitely recommend visiting Curaçao!
Aruba is a great port, I would visit their again, but I would not do the Beach Hopping & Snorkel tour as it is not what it is advertised to be. You visit two beaches, one being a pretty good beach, the other, Eagle Beach, wasn’t. Plus they advertise that you can snorkel, you can only at one beach, not really at the other. Even at the beach you can snorkel at, there’s really nothing much to see. All in all, Aruba = Great place, would definitely go again. Beach Hopping & Snorkel Excursion = definitely wouldn’t recommend doing it.
Disembarkation was not good, long lines to get off the ship and no organization. Plus (not Royal Caribbean’s fault) my bag got some slight damage when I retrieved it. I’ve flown a bunch of times and not once as that happened before.
When I went on Mariner last year, all the shows and entertainment lasted until 11 pm. Night clubs were opened until 12 most nights. We loved mariner of the seas !!
