We have been on all of the Oasis-class ships so we knew this one to be quieter and more relaxing. It was but the food was not good at all. In fact, we have never eaten at the Promenade for pizza and sandwiches so often. That was our biggest disappointment. We also missed the entertainment venues of the bigger ships but now we know better. This is a good ship for the first time cruiser - if they can fix their culinary problems.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The usual and expected experience to get on the ship. No delays, staff were helpful and courteous.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Main dining, deck 3, was beautiful and clean. Usual chaos to get seated - Royal Caribbean really has to do something to eliminate this. My husband had the salmon - it was dry and not very good. I had chops, they were good. Windjammer food was awful. Most meats were dry and overcooked. Too much curry, too much salt, too many stews.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Fitness center was great - clean and well appointed. Walking trails were great on two decks. Pools too crowded, too loud. Loved all the music throughout the ship - lots to choose from.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Disappointed that there were no broadway type shows. Variety shows and comedians were offered. Lots of game shows. The cruise director was good.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward was the best! Anticipated our needs and always had our room pristine.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Very clean - always saw staff wiping common areas down. Hand sanitizers everywhere. Ships layout was very nice but we are are Oasis-class "snobs" and missed that diversity!!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Balcony room was wonderful. Room size was fine - comfortable and large enough for the two of us.
Ship tip
Make reservations for specialty dining - so glad we did and had some great food.
As expected. Handled well without chaos. We were able to leave the ship, get our bags without difficulty and get to our car within 20 minutes of leaving the room.
