Review summary

Will not sail on the Mariner ever again. Rethinking our February Harmony cruise. I don't think Royal expects their passengers to be in tears on their vacations. It was an epic failure of a trip and I wanted off the ship two days in.

Missed many-another passenger security issue stole an entire evening from us. We were turned away at another activity despite being suite passengers (we get priority access)

Well it sounds like you want champagne on a beer budget to me. Next time a suite of high enough level you get a concierge perhaps? As for luggage tags all you have to do is ask your room steward for more. Overall it sounds like you did poor planning. Childrens programs fill up fast on summer cruises and if it’s full you’ll get turned away.

Thanks for the review and when we went on her it was a good cruise but just because you pay for a suite does mean you walk on a red carpet and trumpets announce your arrival..

I hope your luggage was properly tagged because when it's not, that is usually when it gets delayed. The bartenders on Independence of the Seas used a measure to make drinks so they were always consistent and I prefer ice in my drinks so that they'll be cold. Did you let anyone at Royal know that it was your twins birthday or did you let the children's activities director know? It would probably help to know why they were "turned away" as you call it. It seems like maybe there were some things you could have planned better and prepared for but hey.... at least you liked the food!

Maybe expected too much from staying in a suite? Priority seating or perks aren’t necessarily a guarantee. You still need to arrive by a certain time and / or make reservations ahead of time.

Thanks for the review. You may want to read the review of the same sailing by New3318. They seemed to have a great time and said the ship was excellent. Maybe the attitude of the cruiser makes the difference?
