Review summary

Aruba beautiful and definitely worth visiting. We had a lot of fun visiting the islands and traveling on Mariner of the Sea.

Embarkation

Process itself was easy however I didn't get my Covid test results and had to pay $210 to get tested for two people. It was unexpected cost before I took the cruise. I wish it was lower cost.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was exceptional and so delicious however buffet was just ok.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of different activities - you can either be busy all day or just chill

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Little bit of everything - singing, juggling, comedy, ice skating shows

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was very friendly and helpful except for excursion desk. I was disappointed when asked about what are the best beaches to visit in Aruba and was told that they don't get off the ship and can't really recommend anything. It was strange for me to hear that.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Crew is always cleaning but the ship is dated and definitely needs upgrades.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Size was good and the crew keeps it very clean but the room is dated especially the bathroom. There were cracks all over in the sink , at first I though it was dirty but no, just cracks. Shower is showing it's age as well with some rusting. Balcony window were stained so hard to see through it when you are sitting in the chair.

Ship tip

As long as you don't expect new ship with the latest gadgets you will love it.

Ports of call

Oranjestad, Aruba

Beautiful island. We went to Arashi beach - took a local bus [$5 round trip]. The beach was amazing, clean and you can walk forever into the water. I was hoping to do snorkeling but unfortunately there was not that much to see at this beach.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

Another beautiful island. We did an excursion from the ship - glass bottom boat. I would not recommend this - I believe we paid a lot of money for ok trip. This was 1 1/2 hour excursion and most of the time was getting to the spot and the look through glass was not that big and you can see reflection of everyone else's face so wouldn't recommend. However, we did end up walking about a block from the terminal and were able to snorkel off the dock - it was beautiful. The town is very nice as well. Gio ice cream is a must - so delicious.

Willemstad, Curacao

I think this was one of the cutest little towns from ABC islands. It reminds me of Rome when I was walking the streets with colorful buildings.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy and smooth

Appreciate your feedback. Glad you enjoyed your cruise to the ABC islands. Sorry for the additional cost for the Covid tests, but at least it was available!
