Review summary

Mariner should be a-shame to be at sea with lack of management. Shame on you Chefs and manager to be so idiotic with your employees… and stop sneaking in the employees door to text and chat with other employees. In 5 days we never saw 1 person cleaning the stairs case railings nor elevator, which we use to see before the pandemic. In all the Mariner of the sea deserves 1 Start only

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Messy, workers at the port are retired very old and unable to read anything, which made it extremely difficult to go through all the process of getting on board

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet was excellent as they have different themes night. Most of the time at breakfast and dinner there were only 1 Asian person on the floor to do all the service work. I felt for her while others were talking and not working at all. The manager and the chef couldn’t be found anywhere. The food service at the buffet was mediocre at best. The food was better then the service. In all very badly organized with the food service people which most of them did not k ow or add any training as I ask.

Windjammer Café

3 out of 5

This would have been 5 starts if the chef and restaurant manager knew what they were doing as when it comes to training staff. Actually I don’t think they had a chef or a restaurant manager

Solarium Bar

2 out of 5

Never was open till 1 pm and 2 pm

Room Service

5 out of 5

No problem as we only ordered coffee and continental breakfast

Pool Bar

2 out of 5

Really open or ready before lunch, 1 bartender for 200 pool people. You couldn’t never find a server and everyone was complaining about that as well

Playmakers℠ Sports Bar & Arcade

1 out of 5

Server has no idea what anyone order and there to you have to watch how they make the drink

Main Dining Room

3 out of 5

This was also a dirty run down dinning room. We saw many people sick throwing up as well.

Johnny Rockets

1 out of 5

Open 2 hours a day

Diamond Club

5 out of 5

Diamond club was alright, 20 chairs for 150 diamond people. The canapés were delicious and the employees serving them can also be in Allstate commercial in St Vincent, great guy

Chop's Grille

1 out of 5

On the Mariner it was dirty as my wife and I walk-in and look out the window to see dust and old food around the edge.

19th Hole

1 out of 5

Only 4 adults and 2 children putters available and no card or pencil.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
They were mostly boring

Swimming Pools

1 out of 5

Pool is great but again chair reservations should not be aloud

Solarium

1 out of 5

People reserve their chair at 7 am to never show up until 11am

Art and Photo Gallery

1 out of 5

Please people stop betting on those pictures they are worthless and the value is less then $25 on eBay.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
There were 2 black supposedly comics person on stage that were more insulting then funny. Making fun of older people and over weight people. We personally think they we’re having more fun insulting white people because they could. We and many others walk out in dissatisfaction.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The room attendant was the best of every Caribbean ships we’ve been on. He should be training others.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
We noticed so many dirty area especially the dining room when we first came on board for lunch as we had the key for chop grill lunch. Windows area was so dirty and disgusting that we walk out.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a suite and the best clean room. The attendant was the best and always available.

Ship tip

Watch the bartender, he put rum for margaritas and another put crown royal in a sidecar drink. Not one bartender was experienced in any drink. So non or the food and beverage staff was trained to do their job and most of the crew were only 6 days on their first ever job on cruise ship.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

1 out of 5
To many retirees working at the port. I have nothing against retired people, but at least hire people that can read, it took at to long to get on the ship because most of them couldn’t read any vaccine card or sea-pass

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

2 out of 5
It’s ok if you are filthy rich

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

2 out of 5
Same there, it 5 time more expensive then Disney

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
We were suite and also had the Key but it took over 50 minutes to get off the ship as no employees knew what they were doing
