Review summary

Overall it was a nice cruise. I just wished I didn't feel like RCC wasn't reaching in my pocket for my last dollar every minute. Positive note: limits at table games were very reasonable for a captive audience.

Food and Dining

Windjammers was good, not great. Appetizers in main dining room were good, main courses not so good, desserts good. Alcoholic beverage prices WAY TOO HIGH! $9.50 for a domestic beer, come on! You make it prohibitive for light drinkers to get the occasional beer or mixed drink. Also, figure out a way to allow only one person in a cabin to buy the drink package. I would have bought it if I didn't have to buy it for my wife too. You missed out on $200 more from me.

Nassau, Bahamas

Like most third world countries it is very poor and run down. Felt like the rum cake factory was more of a patronage and not a tour. No info on how they were made, just a sales pitch. Distillery was interesting but nobody was working.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Water park should be included. Paying for this seems like extortion. there was a pervasive smell (due to tides i assume) Costs for cabana's bed's, etc. are way too high.

If you call royal and give them a reason one doesn’t drink.... like being an alcoholic or medication or pregnancy etc. they will allow for only 1 to buy it, but the other person does have to get one of the lower packages

Cruising offers a good value for the money. $100-$200 per day is a cheap price for a vacation. They have to make money somewhere like charging for alcohol.

I totally agree, Royal is absolutely ridiculous with constant money grabbing and most of everything is overpriced. I get why they make all adults in a cabin purchase the liquor packages, b/c people do try and get over, however, there are plenty of people who don’t. Last year, I watched one couple who purchased the liquor packages, order drinks and soda and whatever else the package offers for friends and family over and over again simply b/c they were mad at the fact that they both had to purchase the liquor package even though the husband was the only one who wanted it. They never got caught. My point is, they both purchased the packages and they still got over. Making 2 people purchase the package isn’t as smart as they think it is. People will still order for other people.

They make both people buy the drink package because too many people tried to cheat the system only buying 1. The drink prices are on par for any resort. You can call and buy 1 alcohol package and 1 refreshment package.
