Review summary

Royal Caribbean has hit a home run with Coco Cay. Families will have a great time playing on all the slides and water features. Kids will have a blast! The giant pool is a super hangout for party seekers - music and drinks abound. The beaches are quiet and refreshing. It's got it all. It really is a perfect day!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Coast Guard did a routine inspection that morning delayed embarkation awhile, otherwise very smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

We thought the food was very good. Nice variety. Dining room staff was superb. Windjammer was clean and food was tasty. Drinks are generous.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots to do to keep active if you want to. Slides are a hoot and the solarium pool is wonderful. Karaoke is a blast with ALEX!!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were very good - ice show is very entertaining, headliner show was okay, comedy was very funny, Musicians everywhere were excellent. maybe the best musician is the guitar player in the Windjammer!!

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and helpful. They really do a nice job of making you feel like royalty.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The makeover of Mariner was well done. The ship is very clean and looks brand new in every respect.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very clean, plenty of space for my wife and I. Bed was great and the balcony is just right for that morning coffee and danish!

Ship tip

Be sure to walk forward outside on deck 4 to Helipad, especially when the ship is underway. Also, forward on the port side in the solarium you can go to the peek a boo deck - a window looking into the ship's bridge!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Did not do any excursions but the port is easy to enter, park, exit for your cruise.

Nassau, Bahamas

No excursions. We only got off the ship because we were traveling with first time cruisers. It's not a place that I look forward to seeing - dirty, traffic is horrendous, nothing really worth seeing.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Awesome! RCCL has performed an amazing job at Coco Cay. The place has been transformed into a fun and exciting destination. The best part is the beaches and sandbars are just as they've always been - wonderful. By all means go up in the helium balloon - the view is spectacular! Kudos on the new design of the food areas - large, clean, easy to use - food was very good! We also love the paver walkways.

Disembarkation

Easy and fast. We did the walk off BUT we got a porter once inside the terminal. You bypass the long line for customs to a much shorter one for porters. Best $5 I spent on the cruise.
