Review summary

This was my first cruise with royal Caribbean. I was very disappointed by the staff, overcrowding of the ship, lack of seating during dining, and the over all experience. My husband and I do not drink very much, maybe 2 drinks daily, so it does not justify us purchasing the drink package. The cost per drink of alcohol is outrageous. I highly doubt we will cruise with royal Caribbean again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was often cold, staff was rude. the dining room was over crowded and we rarely found a place to sit. The other passengers cut you off, staff barely made eye contact when you asked them a question.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
I asked a crew member how many swimming pools were on the ship, he didn't even look at me when he answered two. Many of the onboard activities were out of service.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
The only staff member who was polite during our stay was our waiter Ariel in the main dining room. The casino staff refused to make change for us to gamble. The staff in the promenade dismissed my husband when he asked to try on a $600 watch, implying he could not afford it. Another female employee in the promenade has a necklace I wanted to purchase but it did not have a price, she said she would "have to look it up but that could take 5 minutes or 30 minutes so I could wait or come back", when I came back the next day there was still not a price for the necklace. The bartenders were rude as well, often overlooking us when we tried to order drinks. The gentleman servicing our room was also polite.

Ship tip

do not go on a 3 day cruise, it is over run with too many people, the drinks are over priced, and the staff is rude.

There was a lot of construction but the beach was nice, and we really enjoyed the pool area. the food wasn't bad either. The staff served drinks frequently, and they were very polite.

Disembarkation

we disembarked early with no issues.

It is interesting that others on the same cruise, had a very different experience. I think the difference is your attitude.
