I enjoyed my time on the Mariner and will definitely keep that in mind when I book my next cruise.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation process was very quick and easy. In fact, I think it was easier than the last time I took a cruise.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
While I didn't eat in any of the specialty restaurants, I enjoyed the buffets for breakfast and lunch and the main dining room for dinner. The dining room food was delicious and the service was wonderful.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I used the pool, the hot tub and the fitness center.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Cruise ship entertainment is usually not my thing, but I do appreciate the hard work and talent of the performers.
Children's Programs
I did not have any children with me on this cruise
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
My room steward was friendly and very helpful. He answered all my questions easily and with a smile and I appreciated the little towel animals that greeted me when I returned to my room in the evening. The dining room waitstaff was wonderful. My waiter, Francis, and his assistant, Ni, were friendly and helpful. By the 3rd night, they knew my eating habits.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
This was my first trip on the Mariner. I think its my favorite ship now. Everything was clean and very well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The room was just the right size for me. Everything looked clean and maintained for me during my trip. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of closet space, which is always important to me.
Ship tip
Spend your pool time in the Solarium. It's more relaxing than the other pool since there are no children under 16 allowed.
I've been to Cozumel before but did not do an excursion this time. I did some shopping but I found it to be a little crowded since there were at least 4 other cruise ships in the port when we were there.
