Review summary

We loved the ship. It was beautiful, clean, full of variety, but felt too crowded sometimes-lots of kids. I have never really enjoyed artwork on a ship before, but this ship had really diverse, fun, artwork. The service from the Royal Carribean staff was truly STELLAR!! The food was very good, but as all cruises seem to be these days, shy of being gourmet.

At St Martin, we took a water taxi, right from where our boat docked, to a fabulous beach and shopping. I don't even know the name of the beach but it was right where you get dropped off from the water taxi, which only cost $5.00 per person RT. The beach was gorgeous, warm turquoise water and white sand.

We preferred St Martin to St Thomas, as it cost us $80 roundtrip to get to a beach at St Martin by taxi for our family of four (none of the beaches were very cheap to get to there) The taxi driver said Sapphire Beach had good snorkeling, so we went there. It was a nice beach for the kids to play at, but the only coral reef I could find there was dead, and I saw no fish in 20 minutes of snorkeling there.

Pros: The service was fabulous, the boat was gorgeous, and the Royal Promenade was the best of any boat we have been on.

Cons: The boat seemed too crowded sometimes, especially in the pool area-often no lounge chairs were available, and the spas were full.

Recommends Mariner of the Seas? Yes!
