Review summary

Overall cruise was wonderful. Disappointed in missing 2 ports, but understand that the comfort and safety of the passengers was the more important issue and were grateful for the Captain's decision.

Boarding the ship went quickly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The ship's dining experience was good overall, but we felt snubbed by the sommeliers. We had purchased the beverage package, and were constantly pushed to purchase bottles of wine and then were not attended to if we ordered wine by the glass. This was especially true in the main dining room and Polo. The wine and drink service in the buffet was excellent. Food was served lukewarm in both Polo and Toscana.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did not take part in any activities.

Did not go to any shows, but pianist in Martini bar was wonderful

Children's Programs

Did not bring children on board.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Aside from Sommeliers, (we were ignored in the main dining room and Polo because we did not order wine by the bottle-were kept waiting, sometimes until after meal was served) and reception staff, (sometimes quite brusque) service was excellent

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin 9096 Cleanliness was exceptional. Safe was placed too high, I could not easily reach it. Only 1 North American electrical outlet available, as opposed to 3 European outlets.

Ship tip

Disembarkation process was deplorable.

Did not do an excursion. Took a transfer directly to Heathrow

Incorrect information given. We were told to proceed to immigration at 8 a.m. Our baggage number and colour was called well before that time. Line-up to go through the immigration was extremely long, it snaked all the way around deck 5. No staff were directing passengers, and there was a lot of confusion as people could not ascertain where the line ended. Again, NO help from crew, no clear signage as to where transfer buses were waiting. It was DEPLORABLE!
