Very enjoyable short break which was amazing value for money!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Marella have this cracked! Bonded flights so you don’t see your luggage from airport check-in until they’re in your stateroom. No waiting either so 5 mins from the terminal to the pool deck.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food, varied between good and very good, but the speciality restaurants, Mistrals in particular were excellent. This is an all inclusive cruise so the wine selection is limited and only a little better if upgrading to premium.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Very limited as an older ship.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The ships company were ok, but a real highlight was the guest entertainer, Benjamin Ross, a singer / guitarist / comedian who had the audience in the palm of his hand.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff and service on the Celebration was universally excellent.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship is old now, so design is not up to more recent standards. She is looking a little tired in some areas which is understandable, but the crew are always on top of things and painting etc is a constant.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin itself is a little tired, but is large by more modern standards. More than adequate storage and space to move around, though sound proofing leaves a little to be desired if you have an inconsiderate neighbour - which we did at times...
Simply beautiful! We took a self organised Game of Thrones tour of the city which was just amazing. We’d been before, so a focused excursion added so much to the experience. Very busy indeed though...
What can you say? Amazing place, and sailing in on the lagoon is second only to New York, in my opinion. We were censured to be in at 0800 but fog meant a delay until about 200 pm, which was disappointing some ways. But Mother Nature does what she does. Some of the moaning we heard though was inexcusable.
Do not miss Diocletian’s palace - which would be difficult as It is vast. Mor Game of Thrones filming took place here which was a particular highlight.
