Review summary
I think I was too hyped about the Mardi Gras. I expected more for how much this ship had been talked about. With over 6000 people on board, it was just too crowded for me. Would have loved to see more entertainment that was good. On sea days there was nothing to do but the pool. Elevators (too little). Everywhere was beautiful that we went too. We met a lot of new faces and really nice people. I think I will stick to smaller boats. I did come home with flu and some of friends did get it to from ship.Embarkation
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
Cucina del Capitano
Went once that is free…wait time was over a hour…food was awful and cold..a lot of people were getting food poisoning from the Cornish hens. If you do go for a second time it is $8 a person. Some did say when you had to pay it was actually good,
Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse
Lobster was rubbery…steak was very good
Rudi's Seagrill
Awesome!!! You like Seafood…worth the money!!!
Tides Pool Bar
Slow with getting orders and getting them back. Got a mimosa one morning…nothing but orange juice…
Swirls
My husband always got an ice cream cone. Always good and always clean.
Piazza Piani
Ate here a lot. So delicious. Light and always had a good selection. Best grill cheese I had had in a long time. Number 10 was always good too. Loved this place.
Palm Restaurant
Did not like new menu but ate here the most. Roxanne from Romania on last night was excellent. She made sure we got all we wanted. Very nice and made sure we always had refills. Most everything was ok but when they had lobster tails, was excellent.
Heroes Tribute Lounge
We hung out here a lot with pool in back. Love how they honor vets. At end of cruise drinks started being less with alcohol and more with the other stuff. They were also running out of beer. I do not drink beer but my friends were having to get some that no one had heard of.
Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que
Lunch tasted like left overs from previous day. BBQ was dried out and sides were not fresh. Went for dinner and paid $10 to get ribs. Very good but corn on cob was so dried out and they had no butter.
Guy's Burger Joint
Same on all cruises…always same meat and fries
Big Chicken by Shaq
Always hot and always good!
Onboard Activities
Summer Landing
Pool did not smell like chemicals was being added tbh. I did enjoy this pool though. Not a lot of kids. Good sun and water was cool. Hot tub was just too warm for me.
Mardi Gras Casino
SO SMOKEY…I COULD NOT EVEN PKAY LONG I even went to non-smoking side…AWFUL
Dreams Studio
Loved our photos we bought
The Fun Shops
Love the selection in stores…more stores then normal ships
Entertainment
BOLT Ultimate Sea Coaster
Did not do cost $15 a ride and at ports was being “worked on”
Mardi Gras Theater
Loved the veteran’s recognition ❤️
Punchliner Comedy Club
I hate to say but this was the worse ship for comedians. One ran out of material and another just didn’t click to the crowd (no one laughed).
Service and Staff
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
Ship tip
Not enough elevators. Lines for breakfast is long. Public bathrooms are not what you expect. Cleaning is definitely not up to par. Half our boat got off with flu, covid, or just plan crud.
Ports of call
Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic
