Overall we had a great cruise. I am not sure if I am a fan of the new design. It felt compartmentalized. I like the openness of the atriums on the other ships. I did like all the food and drink options. The ship is definitely worth giving her a try. Cruises are what you make of them, and you cannot let the negatives keep you away. There are still a lot of positives of the ship.
Embarkation

VeriFLY made it a very smooth process. We showed up during appointment time, and we were on in no time at all.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was very disappointing.
We had my time dining. We tried Cucina and Chibang and they were just ok. The other nights we ate in the MDR. The food here was better. The crab cakes here were better than the specialty restaurant.
Guy’s Burgers, Shaq Chicken, and Blue Iquana were all great.
With all the new bars, there were a lot of new drinks to try. Alchemy Bar and Fortune Teller bar were my favorite. The new drinks were the reason of the 3 stars. The food rating is barely 1 star.
Rudi's Seagrill

Servers did not seem to care and was just going through the motions. Lobster bisque tasted like butter. The only good thing was the fisherman’s stew. We barely ate anything else. It was not worth the extra money.
Bonsai Sushi

Service and food was ok. We had to keep asking to refill our water, and the California Roll was not that good.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Bolt was worth the extra charge to do at least once.
We were able to get loungers at the pool with no problem. They had plenty of loungers. This sailing was near capacity.
The drop slide took my breathe away but to me it was the better slide. I did not feel every seam. I did not make the blue slide since it was closed the day I did the slides.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
A lot more music options and performances that were good. You had multiple options each night to choose from. They also had 6 different comedians with multiple shows.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service was slow. It was not because the staff was not working hard though. It was hard to tell if they were understaffed or under trained. It does not take 4 people to find a table for someone in the MDR.
We only had good service in the MDR once. The waiter approached us immediately, and our water glasses were never empty. It was the last night and I only ate 1/4 of my entree, and he actually noticed and asked if I wanted something else.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was big and beautiful. Loved having the pool area on the back of the ship. Elevators were small and slow. I did the stairs as much as I could. The bathrooms and rooms were smaller, but having a shower door instead of a curtain was a plus.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Storage was great but the room was smaller. There was barely enough room at the end of the bed and wall. I felt like I was going to hit my head on the tv trying to get to the other side of the room. This is an extended balcony. The balcony was spacious. It could have fit a lounger, but it was just 2 chairs and a small table.
Ship tip
Take your patience when ordering a drink from the Tiki Bar during the busy parts of the day.
Maya Chan Beach Club was amazing. Service was remarkable and the tacos at lunch were great. I will have to return to try out the water options like kayaking, paddle boarding, and snorkeling. It was windy and the seaweed was out of control. However the owner gave us the option to cancel with a full refund.
Appreciate your detailed review. I like how you explain things without showing your like or dislike for many of them. Glad you enjoyed your cruise, even if this is not your favorite ship.
