Review summary

Was on with 15 in our party! Had an awesome cruise - staff was under manned and it showed! They staff who were over worked and heard a lot of complaints - always smiled and made us smile. Love cruising on carnival and the Mardi Gras!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Got to terminal late, 2:15 PM. Was checked in and on board and in my cabin within 10 mins.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Like the specialty dining, we did steak house always is good. Chibang was good, preferred lunch over dinner there, the Italian restaurant was really good - both were free.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Look Like a lot to do, ship is so big, never made it to the sports square, waterworks or Bolt.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
So many shows and clubs - you cannot see them all! Best entertainment on any carnival ship! Biggest casino at sea!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
I don’t blame the staff - they are always great! The ship was full capacity - and not enough workers. You had to get your own drinks a lot of the time. They had to take workers off the Magic during our cruise to help. Casino take 2-3 hours to get a drink.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It will take a lot of getting use too, not designed like any other carnival Ship, but after a few days - you will enjoy the layout - but bring your walking shoes. Felt was inside more than outside on this cruise

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabins are very nice - long and narrow. The bathrooms are very small, but they finally got the glass doors for the showers. More USB ports. Slider to the balcony which was nice, cannot lock yourself out anymore. Nice decor.

Ship tip

Book speciality dining before you cruise for paid ones. If you don’t like elevators then stay around deck 12 - if you stay on Lido like we did deck 16 - you had to 8-10 flights to get to the activities, and 16 flights to get off the ship on port days. So try to split the difference from Lido to main activities.

Ports of call

We were just on panorama, our casino bar service was also slow. No casino bar either to walk up to. Carnival needs to fix this. We stopped gambling because of the slow bar service.

Thanks for sharing your cruise experiences. Yes, crew members work so hard even though all the cruise lines are short staffed. They should be appreciated. Sounds like you had a nice cruise!

Thanks for the review. It’s nice to read reviews that show appreciation for the hard working staff. Mardi Gras sounds a lot like RC’s Symphony which we loved. Husband called it a floating city.
