The purpose for this cruise was to experience a new Carnival Ship Mardi Gras. I can only say, I was totally disappointed with this Ship. I'm normally not a negative person, I try to find the good in everything. But not this one. Carnival bring back the great food, the great Broadway shows and the bedtime story!

I'm a Platinum member and I must say, this has been the worst ship I've been on. They need to dry-dock this ship right away. I've always have a per-set dining time at the same table to keep my same level of service. The Staff were great, the food was always late and never hot (outside of the soups). We always look forward to a day at the Steak house specialty dining. The steak on this ship was horrible, wait for the food was very slow. The lido deck buffets...I'm still trying to figure out what all were they servicing??? No real options. For the first time cruisers, this may have been great experience for them, but for a avid cruiser, this was not Carnival best.
Onboard Activities

What was that? Activities...I know fun and activities on a cruise ship is what you make of it. But, there wasn't much of anything to make. (outside the roller coaster at the port of calls). The Serenity deck is for Adults only, but the children had pretty much taken over that deck.
Entertainment

On this ship the main show stage was the center Atrium in which the shows were not the greatest. The once large theater where they have the nice Broadway types shows was not half it's size with little to no entertainments. Carnival has been known as the party ship, but there were no partying musician or DJ's to make that happen. The only entertainment that was jam packed every night was the Comedy club...Wow

I would have given this a 5 star if the Staff had been a lot more demanding for those idiots who rebelled with the required mask wearing mandate. I believe this is one of the reason this ship had some positive Covid 19 guest.

The ship needs to be re-designed, the layout trying to do the New Orleans French Quarters theme was crazy. Too many little restaurants, that pizza parlor was horrible, give me back my 24/7 microwave pizza of the past.
Cabin / Stateroom

I always purchase an inside cabin Spa deck to have free access to the Spa, Thermal and sauna, pool area. Plus, the Aroma Hot Stones Massages are great. One of the best design is the now glass enlarge shower (no more fighting the shower curtain). It's a Cabin. The bathroom in it's self is smaller. The beds were not the greatness to sleep on, but we managed. I would love for them to bring back the twice cleaning time (wake up and night).

Regardless of my review, go have a nice time, fun is what you make of it. Go out, do the excursions. Enjoy the Ship
Sounds like you are age you might be boring need go on 75 year older cruise.. and if you read emails the new procedure for all ships in all class.. dining have changed do to covid .. there's no more assigned seats .. and you can't sit with strangers.. So cruise wasn't to your satisfaction.. So you want discourage a first time cruiser or someone haven't been on a ship before 👍🏽 job.. 🙄
My recommendation is to select Your Time Dining on the Mardi Gras because then you can book via app you choice of 3 restaurants (MDR, *Cucina, *Chibang). We found the service and food fantastic and only went to MDR once. *Not sure they are going to continue with No Charge in 2022
I've heard a lot more great reviews for Madi Gras, than bad. But all our welcome to their own opinions. However , you missed a great day at Amber Cove. It is not a beach, but a huge walk in pool, lazy river, water slides, loungers, umbrellas, restaurant, lots of shopping and zipline, and so much more. We loved it.

Hard to believe some of these reviews, people just like to complain. I was on the same ship and it is not perfect but not everything is bad. And the lady never got off the ship so what’s that?
But the bad reviews are funny to read, the stuff people make up is like they are hoping CCL gives them something for free if they complain.
