We met a lot of very nice people and staff on this ship. I would never go on this particular ship again because of the horrible food and lack of amenities for suite rooms.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We had no trouble with the embarkation.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
This was the most horrendous food we have ever had. They would serve pasta with no sauce available. Everything was overcooked and completely tasteless. The desserts had no taste and little variety. The only reason I gave it a rating of 2 was Sorrentos and Johnny Rockets were good. We ate pizza almost every meal. They ran out of Crown Royal in the bars 3 out if the 7 nights we cruised.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There seemed to be ample activities onboard. Several days were quite cool, so without a solarium pool that meant most people did not use the pools.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
This is the one area this ship shined. Their onboard cast of singers and dancers was exceptional. The entertainers they brought onboard were good. The piano player and the guitarist that played in the Schooner lounge were also very good.
Children's Programs
We did not travel with children.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We thought the staff was very accommodating and very friendly.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship although very old and one of the smaller ships, it was nice and very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The suite was nice. It had a bathtub which helped it feel less claustrophobic when showering. There were ample closets and drawer space.
Ship tip
There is no Diamond Lounge and no perks for suites.
There was no public parking anywhere near Bourbon Street. My car was vandalized along with 100+ others one night. We had to drive home without a driver’s side window because no glass repair places were open on a Saturday.
We were about 6 hours late getting into port due to rough seas. The people that carried their luggage off, comprised the largest number of people disembarking. They made everyone vacate their room by noon which put everyone in one dining room. The dining room was filled to capacity and there were people in every hallway. The people that came down early were not able to disembark first because others pushed and shoved their way into the dining room. I know that it was an unusual circumstance because of the late arrival. It just seems that adjustments should have been made when they saw how few bags were in the hallway the night before.
Probably had a beef with the beef being overcooked. Undercooked meats are a potential source of gastrointestinal illnesses and are avoided when not directly served.
Food is obviously subjective, but someone else on the same cruise said the food was excellent Z We’ve always found good variety and quality of food in both the dining room and buffet on all of our cruises. It’s not 5 star cuisine, but certainly not “horrible”. I wonder what those that complain about the food on a cruise normally eat at home to find the food on a cruise so terrible?
