Review summary
This was a transitional ship from Florida where it was doing 3,4,and 5 night cruises to the Bahamas. When we arrived the ship was there and needed to be equipped for the seven night cruise. This being said, there were a few problems that needed to be worked out. The biggest complaint was when we arrived in port at Key West. It took awhile for the clearance to be done so the departure line got extremely long. Tempers were showing adding to the problem. The captain was very good at passing on where the ship was. He explained a lot about situations that were being worked on. Crew was very helpful and always was happy to assist with any questions or problems.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Usually the embarkation from the Julia Street terminal is chaotic. Because this was a transitional cruise (coming from Florida and starting its New Orleans itinerary) there was no disembarkation. The ship arrived empty. That being said, embarkation went well. The only glitch was the use of trainees checking in passengers. This slowed the process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The choice of food venues was adequate for the size of ship. If you do the My Time Dining, pre reserve on line before arriving to ship. The line was very long. Food in the main dining rooms was very good but for some reason they had an abundance of broccoli and carrots. Service was very good.
We used the buffet for breakfast and lunch. The first morning was rather confusing. Only one half of the buffet was open and everybody arrived at the same time. Seating was filled within the first fifteen minutes. Hunger caused us to break the barrier and start utilizing the BACK half seating. I recommend being at the buffet when they open if you want to eat sitting down. What they were doing was opening front half first then in an hour the back half. Once we figured that out, it wasn’t so bad.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Our activities were rather conservative. We do not drink or gamble. Nor do we buy art work. This trip we did not even purchase anything on board. We did the production shows and took a couple of seminars. Spent some time in the pizzeria.

Always helpful and willing to assist.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
For an older ship the Majesty was well kept up. One pool was temporarily under repair. One morning we had no water in the cabin bathroom. I reported it and it was already being worked on.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
This is the second time we sailed on this ship. Our cabin was just next door to the last sailing (Cuba). This is older ship so the cabins are not too large nor are there any balconies unless you have a suite. The cabin was comfortable and completely functional. Using a CPaP machine a power extension cord and distilled water was provided. Noise from other cabins was minimal. Ship motion was slight even in heavy current. Ice was delivered every day.
Enjoyed this a lot. Did the water park excursion. Plenty of free food, juice, water, coffee, and tea. Wave pool was my favorite (lm too old for the good stuff ( bones break easy). Nice beach with plenty of reclining chairs and umbrellas (no extra charge). There is a shuttle to move you back and forth to ship.
One of my favorite ports. We took the On and Off Trolley through the route as a leisure excursion. Butterfly House is great. Key West is a good place to purchase hand rolled cigars.
If you want to have your picture made at the US1 end sign, you will need to have plenty of time as the line can get long. The wait was near an hour the day we were there.
NOTE: There are several misleading venders. Be careful. Ask at the pier what to avoid. There is an information desk at the pier.
The town was full of construction. The College football finals were going on so hotels were over priced. Being the week of January 11, 2020, heavy storms were in the area so visitation was at a minimum. The city is a beautiful city and a lot to see and do.
No excursions here.
The exit line to leave the ship (walk off) was from the exit door through the dining room and back around. We don’t know what the delay was. Once the line started moving, it was a quick exit. Being that we were exiting earlier with luggage we did not get in the confusing embarking/disembarking crowds that has a tendency to thicken as it gets later.
We have cruise her twice on different ineraries too. Would cruise her again on a different yet. A old but sturdy ship with good access to its features.
