Embarkation

Very easy process and the workers behind the counter were very personable.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good, especially the fries and wings at Captain Jack’s on CocoCay (extra $11 fee.) However, the mixed drinks were hit and miss. I swear the CocoLoco (signature drink on CocoCay) didn’t have any alcohol in it. I didn’t get the drink package because I can’t drink $50 a day in alcohol, however it’s kind of worth it if you’re unsatisfied with your drink and want to order something different. The embarkation lunch wasn’t all that crowded and I didn’t have an issue finding seating as I have on larger ships.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I thought the entertainment in The Chorus Line venue was mediocre and I didn’t stay but 10 minutes for Travis Cloer (singer from Jersey Boys) and the final show. Oddly enough, a girl named Jake on piano and the Hispanic band were amazing and should have a show in the main room. I kept finding them by chance and they were great talents. Also, The Chorus Line room is FREEZING so take a sweater, you’ll need it.

Cabin / Stateroom

Clean room. It’s an older ship so no amenities like charger next to your bed and I found the Kleenex on the last day of my cruise. Wish I could take the shower water output with me: strong, hot, wonderful. Very small shower and bathroom though.

Ship tip

Take a sweater and a book. If you want to have a good time, you will.

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

It lives up to the hype. I enjoyed the Hemingway house and the Little White House (although the White House fee was a bit high for what you get.). I was not crazy about Sunday meal (brunch only) or the key lime pie (too sweet) at Blue Heaven and paid $28 plus tip for eggs Benedict and key lime pie. I highly recommend the Kermit’s chocolate covered frozen key lime pie. Paid $7 for it and don’t regret the cost or the calories.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
They did a fantastic job with this resort (that’s what it is) and it’s worth booking a cruise just to go here. The chicken wings and fries (extra fee) at Captain Jack’s was worth it. Mixed drink was subpar. Seating was readily available for 2 shiploads up until about 10-11 am then it got super crowded and people saved seats. Walk the entire property, it’s beautiful and there are hidden gems.
