Review summary

We were celebrating our friend's 40th birthday! There were four couples in total. Despite Hurricane Irma cutting our trip short, we had a great time, acknowledging that the experience is made by the people you share it with!

Embarkation

3 out of 5
It would have been nice to have carts to tote our carry one items. Otherwise, it was speedy and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The dining room meals in the evening were great as were breakfasts in the Windjammer. Everything else was tolerable.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This was the area I felt had the most room for improvement. I've been on several cruises but found this experience to be the most disappointing. We even got all dressed up for the 70s party and were disappointed to be the only people outside of the crew to participate. There were several activities listed on the agenda each day that we would attend only to be disappointed or bored. If you like spending a lot of time in the casino, this would probably be more up your alley.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The comedian was hilarious, and the musical/shows were fun. The music throughout the ship was also good.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
No children were traveling with us.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The service and staff was good, however, I have have far superior experiences on previous cruises with other cruise lines.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
This ship is obviously dated, but it was clean and there was constant work being done to keep it that way.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was great. I don't have any complaints about the cabin at all.

Ship tip

If you are looking for a quiet, low key, lazy vacation, this is the ship for you. If you are looking to be entertained or busy, I would encourage you to explore other options.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
We had a private cabana on the beach. Lunch was catered, and we snorkeled and sunbathed. There were beautiful fish swimming everywhere around us. There was a lot to explore when we snorkeled. The food was delicious, with iguanas walking up and eating around us. The water was beautiful and clear. The chairs and floating mats were comfortable. The cabana was huge with room for our large group. It was a wonderfully peaceful day.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We elected to go to the public beach and rent jet skis, which we negotiated down to our price range rather than electing to go through the cruise excursions. The water was fantastic. The beach was clean and not crowded. The scenery was spectacular. It was a fabulous way to spend the day!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was a hurried experience as we were brought back early in an attempt to beat Hurricane Irma. Everything was quick and smooth.

Four couples, birthday celebration - no reason to let a little hurricane dampen your spritz. Glad you had a good time together.
