Review summary

This was our first cruise and now I doubt if I will go on another. It didn't measure up to what I heard about cruises from friends. I was not impressed by their organization. I'm glad there were no huge problems because I did not have faith that the crew would be able to handle it.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
We boarded the ship and were greeted by five people trying to sell things and no one to ask where to go. Very chaotic.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The staff was overworked. One person to man several stations. Long lines in buffet. Had to ask for silverware when they ran out. Staff in main dining areas were not overly accommodating. They were always trying to sell a kitchen tour.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Activities director was so much fun! Games were fun as well. Especially newlyweds game.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Juggling show was amazing since the ship was swaying. Musicians were fantastic.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Room service was hit and miss. Didn't receive the final disembark papers and final bill. Saw that everyone else had theirs stuck in door. Had to ask for ours.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Public restroom by casino was terrible. Only three stalls and one was always closed. Smoking areas were not posted. Didn't realize there was smoking on board. More shaded areas needed on deck. The only ones available while at sea were in the smoking areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Liked the location. Rooms are very old and the bathroom especially needs updating.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

2 out of 5
Lines to get off the ship were so long that it took us three hours to finally get off. Island was not enjoyable. Sand was rough with broken pieces of shells.

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Atlantis waterpark was nice but they made us walk way out of the way to get to it. Our ticket said to meet in Chorus Lounge at 8:30 for a meeting. We didn't realize we would be leaving after the meeting. (1st cruise) The ticket also said credit card OR cash. Mostly everyone only accepted credit card.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Carried our own luggage off and it was extremely fast!

RCI is an awesome cruise, I'm going on this ship in October, but I understand it's one of the oldest ships in fleet so I know it's not going to be at the same level of experience as other ship RCI ships I have sailed on. You should try RCI's Voyager, Freedom, Oasis, or Quantum classes of ships!

I would say go again but try Celebrity. RCCL has, in my opinion, moved all good staff to their mega ships leaving these smaller ones guests out in the lurch.
