Review summary
The Majesty of the Seas is getting old. We were on the same boat 17 years ago for our honeymoon. My wife could not keep her hair dryer plugged into the electrical socket, we ended up taping it to the socket to keep it running. We had some issues with the safe. The room otherwise was functional. The sit=down dinners were nice, we enjoyed the other couples at our table. The food's quality and quantity was not up to par with other cruises. There was no real nice meal to be had, unless you wanted to pay a $30 premium. I thought Royal Caribbean cheaped out on that matter. I was looking forward to a nice lobster meal, like all my other cruises.
The facilities of the boat were fine, we liked the pool area. We always enjoy the Art auctions, too bad there wasn't much interest by other patrons. We enjoyed both the comedians on the boat.
We took the excursion to Atlantis when in Nassau. A little pricey but worth the money, we had a great time there. There is a lot to see and do there, between the waterpark, the 2 aquariums and the casino. I was surprised that it didn't cost an arm and a leg to eat lunch there. We each had a sandwich, chips and a drink and it came to less than $20. The lockers were conveniently located near the food area and waterpark.
The next day we went to Coco Cay, in the Bahamas. I hope you like lying on the beach or floating on the water, that's about all you do there. There were nice people who worked in the huts selling there wares, but to be honest, there was nothing to buy there but the same stuff you see anywhere else.
The next day we went to Key West and took the Conch Train tour, very nice and informative. I would recommend this for first timers to Key West as we were. After the tour we went up and down Duval street. Many more interesting things to purchase here. A large variety of places to eat along the way also. It seemed like a fun place to party, we had to be back on the boat by 5:30, or we would have stayed on shore for much longer.
All in all a good trip.
