Review summary
I have been on 3 cruises and this was the worst. Bad weather forced us to miss 2 of the 3 ports of call. While I understand that the cruise line is not responsible for the weather, I do hold them accountable for providing a quality on-board experience to compensate for missing our ports of call. Although the captain assured us that our safety was his primary concern for not docking at the ports, he did not communicate with us during the last 12 hours of the ship in which we endured the worst waves on the trip. When we arrived in Miami, where it was 41 degrees, the captain remained silent and left it to the crew to apologize for the miserable trip. Not only did we miss our ports of call, but the on-board activities were meager and most were held on the atrium of the ship, which had a tiny stage and no seats. We were forced to look over the 3 decks above the atrium to watch the show and most were forced to sit on the floor! There are 2 large well-equipped lounges on-board, that remained empty while we squeezed around the atrium. I don't understand why we didn't have a line dancing show in the Spectrum Lounge. It is clear that there have been cut-back's in on-board entertainment. There was only 1 night for the comedian and the piano bar was only open 2 of the 4 nights. Would it have cost the cruise more money to have a DJ to run a dance club each night? There was nothing to do! Not only did we not get to stop at Coco Cay or Key West but we had to remain imprisoned on the boat for 3 rough days at sea going at a snail's pace to sail up and down the Florida coast. It only takes a few hours to drive from Miami to Key West. It took us 24 hours! What else could they do? They were not allowed to return to Miami until 7:30 a.m. the last day. The cold weather meant that we couldn't use the pool or even go out on the decks. It felt like a prison. I will never go on a cruise again.
