Review summary

We were aware that the Majesty was due for drydock for an overhaul in January so we had reservations about sailing on her but found her to be completely satisfactory. The ship definitely is showing her age but we had no problems. Our only complaint on the ship was my daughters' cabin steward consistently did not do a good job with their stateroom--it never looked as good as we are accustomed to our staterooms looking after cabin service. In addition, she never gave them a Cruise Compass all week, but at the end of the week she did manage to deliver the envelopes for her tip. Our other complaint about this cruise was the shore excursion in Miami--the airboat ride and alligator farm. We've taken this before and enjoyed it but we will never do it again. It was over priced at $54 and of course everyone has his/her hand out looking for a tip on top of that. The tour guide on the bus was very informative and entertaining but he misled us into believing if we did not order lunch before the airboat ride we might not have time to do it later. When we were eating the expensive but mediocre food at 10:00 in the morning we realized how we had been ripped off. We were back at the airport by noon when we could have eaten at a restaurant of our choosing. In addition, three airboats departed at the same time and pretty much followed the same path so the third boat (ours) saw absolutely no wild life at all. Our 40 minute ride included a 10 minute spiel in the middle of the everglades (with the other two boats also parked nearby doing the same thing) and an informative talk about the wetlands. Educational, but not conducive to alligator viewing. Very disappointing and over priced. No one got tipped on that excursion.

You could book an excursion to Atlantis for $50-$100 depending on access to amenities you wanted, but if you take the water taxi ($6 round trip) and buy the same excursion from the resort, the prices range fro $29-$88. Another excursion rip off.
Don't Miss: shopping in the straw market, and Atlantis

We didn't do any organized excursion and this town is a dump with rude, pushy people. I wouldn't go back unless I was involved in a shore excursion.

Pros: The cruise ship and staff were wonderful!

Cons: My daughters' cabin steward was substandard, and our Miami excursion was a total bust!
