Review summary

First timer here. After taking my trip on the Majesty of Seas; I wont lie and say it was exactly what I expected, but it wasn't a bad trip in the least. First off, four friends and I (21-23) took this trip on May 5, the start of summer and to be honest the ages on board were a bit surprising. I expected a lot more younger people (20-28) on this ship as it is more economical and college courses were finished and break was up at this time. Beyond that I absolutely loved Cococay and was disappointed to hear from many servers that the ship often passes up this beautiful island due to weather or high chop in the water. For Nassau and Key West I was completely disappointed. Being from Florida I can tell you where they dock in Key West is 100% a tourist trap as is Nassau, but that is a gimme. As for on board the ship I found both negative and positive experiences with the servers on the ship. Some I loved and were as polite and chatty as could be and others just wanted to take your order sign for your drink and not even say hello. One huge downfall about this boat I wish I had known about (other than the age ordeal) was the extreme lack of on board events. We had one deck party, which was a bit lame to be honest. Everything else seemed to pertain to either some kind of Bingo or gambling. Lastly, if you want a recommendation as to what ship to sail on, many servers recommended for a better time, more events, better ship, and more youthful age group to try the "Enchantment of the Seas" line. Hope this helps. (PS. If you rent a moped/vehicle in Key West DO NOT USE SUNSHINE they have giant deposit fees as opposed to any of the other non-commercial rental places, there staff will most likely 'forget' to notify you of this until you are charged for it. Upon being charged it takes 3-4 days to get your 300-500 dollars back.)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The dinners are great, but the buffet/Johnny Rockets/Compass Deli/ Etc... leave A LOT to be desired. You will feel great when you get off the ship and can hit up and actual restaurant after eating from the buffet for 4-5 days straight.

Entertainment

On the boat.. Poor is all I can say. I am 21 and I have no interest in playing bingo every night with lucky lula... Leaves more to be desired.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We had some servers who were absolutely amazing and others ( 1 in particular ) who overcharged us twice (added an extra drink to our bill) which left us with having to deal with a not so polite bar manager for part of our cruise to get the charges off. Our room attendant was also amazing

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Moderate. Some parts were more than I expected and others a lot less. Rooms are small, but its a cruise, so don't expect much.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I liked our room. It was a regular Oceanview and we cramped 4 people into it :). The beds are comfortable and to be honest everything else matters very little as you shouldn't be spending much time in the room.

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

3 out of 5
Key West is like Nassau. They bring you to a small area which is basically the place to go if you wanna spend money on cheap souvenirs. Walking around is a pain and it is terribly crowded. To keep it short and simple, Key West is a place to go to for the night life, not from 11-5 when you will feel like you are in a low key strip mall.
Don't Miss: eh.. I wish I could say the beach, but I didn't even get to one and we had the luxury of renting a vehicle...

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
Loved Cococay. All I can say. Beautiful beaches, nice and casual atmosphere and a ton of great reasonably priced excursions. The downside is RC often skips this port due to weather or choppy seas.
Don't Miss: Beaches, small bars, and if possible get a snorkel kit.

Nassau, Bahamas

1 out of 5
Tourist Trap. Bothered constantly by locals for 10 dollar towel rentals, watered down booze, and some other commodity "you must have"... The beach and Atlantis are good, but not worth the bother.
Don't Miss: Private Beach near Atlantis and Atlantis. (do not buy drinks on the beach, watered down and cheap liquor)

Pros: Cococay, staff for the most part

Cons: Nassau, boat activities/events

Recommends Majesty of the Seas? No.
