Thoroughly enjoyable cruise, if not the fully refined trip we have experienced before with Princess.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Although we heard some rumours from a few others on the cruise about delayed boarding, we were through the process and in our cabin within 30 minutes
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We were in Club Class, and we found the staff very friendly, but it was obvious some were new to their roles, as orders were often wrong, but this didn’t diminish our experience.
The food wasn’t up to the usual high standards we have previously enjoyed on Princess Cruises, but enjoyable none the less.
10/10 for both the speciality restaurants at Crown Grill and La Mer the French restaurant. Food was superb, and the staff excellent
6/10 for the Harmony Chinese restaurant, we have had better food delivered by Uber eats on a Friday, to be honest. Staff were also a little rude we felt
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Generally seemed to be a lack of events, I’m sure this is down to COVID, and some of the staff, didn’t seem that focused or interested in a few of the events we attended
Entertainment
4 out of 5
A mixed bag here! A few great shows/entertainers, but also a couple that were poor we felt.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The staff we encountered were generally cheery, upbeat and helpful, but this couldn’t be said for everyone, especially those working in the Piazza area, who often turned away, when they could see you wanted to place an order.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It’s a Princess cruise, and they have never failed to deliver once you get onboard one of their ships. The Majestic Princess looked great, especially when all decked out for the festive holiday season
One criticism we had, was we felt they removed the decorations too soon, and unlike previous Christmas cruises, they were down well before the cruise ended
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Only little niggle was the occasional ‘gurgling’ of water being returned via the bath plug hole, which often left a smell.
