Review summary

We really enjoy the cruise to Alaska and were looking forward to the getaway. Unfortunately, due to 2 storms, our ship was delayed in leaving Seattle and had to skip two ports. Our only stop was Juneau. It was rainy and foggy most of the time. The day we were in Glacier Bay the clouds rose and the sun broke through for all to enjoy the beauty. It was a rough ride for a couple of days, but we didn’t let it spoil our cruise. Most people were understanding that safety was the priority and had a good time despite the disappointment.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were assigned to group A (11:30-11:45) but it didn’t appear that anyone was checking for this. We departed from Seattle. Luggage was collected outside by porters. Everyone got into the same line to check passports, vaccination cards and covid tests. If you had completed all the check in through the app prior to arrival, you were given a green card. Everyone went upstairs through security. Once you cleared security, passengers with green cards and their medallions could go aboard. Anyone needing to complete check in or needing to pick ip their medallions went to another line. We had no issues with checking in on the app so this process was quick and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food in both main dining rooms was excellent. Alfredos pizza was a favorite. We only had breakfast twice at the buffet. There was a good selection but we prefer the dining room. We had lunch one day from the Noodle Bar. It was surprisingly good. They have 2 dishes every day and one that changes daily. We did not try the burgers or other outside food offerings other than the street tacos. We thought the tacos could be improved upon. We did not go to any specialty restaurants.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The Majestic Princess has an indoor and an outdoor pool. The spa has the enclave. Each day there was a tai chi class and a zumba class. Lots of trivia and game type shows. Bingo, a casino, art gallery and high end shops. Since this was Alaska, there were talks by guest speakers about Alaska.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was exceptional. Because of covid, room stewards only came in the room once a day. If you needed anything, there was a button on your cabin phone that you could use to contact your steward. The dining room wait staff were very efficient. We used both dining rooms and sat in various locations and had the same great service each time. If you used the medallion app or the link on your tv to make reservations, there was no waiting to be seated.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a deluxe balcony cabin located on deck 12 forward. It was clean and had plenty of room for the two of us.

Ship tip

The Hollywood Conservatory is a nice place to relax.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were off the ship by 8:10 and picked up our bags and cleared customs in less than 5 minutes. We used the port parking and the shuttle picked us up right outside the door.
