Be prepared to spend lots of time in lines, either to drop off people, luggage or parking, it takes at least an hour in each line, that is before you even get ready to check in.

Go early to embark. Disembarkation in Galveston is a mess. Over an hour to get off and clear customs.

Buy things ahead to save a little. Excursions, internet, drink packages (if you get them). Take comfortable shoes, lots of walking. Be sure to have closed toe shoes (sneakers, boat shoes, etc) for certain excursions and activities. Don't miss the shows.

Get there as early as possible and start enjoying your cruise. Have lunch at Windjammer and learn where things are on the ship.

Ports with tender transportation were not prominently displayed in the brochures. If you have physical limitations, this would be helpful information to have.

Only book shore excursions through royal Caribbean. The link this company sends you is not through the ship and not very good!

For example: You should plan ahead where to go before arriving on every port. Some are easily accessible through local trains & that will save you money.

don't expect any morning announcement from the cruise director. He has been doing his job for too long, and he suck at it. On the last sea day, since it was raining, none of the outdoor activities were replaced. Nothing to announce about having plan B. The "My Time" dinning meant long wait times.
