Review summary

The Liberty is a very nice ship.  The part that stands out to me is the promenade.  That is the main mall type walking area down the middle of the ship.  It's 4-5 stories tall.  There are shops and places to eat.  Two of which are free to eat at.  Sorrentos and the promenade cafe.  I really like the pizza at sorrentos.  The other free places to eat on the ship are the windjammer and the main dining area.  In the main dining area at (your time dining), you can make reservations for whatever time you want and whatever seat you want.  We enjoyed a window seat every evening.  The menu changed every night, with some things staying the same.  It was a really good verity for a 7 day cruise.  Before my cruise, I saw some negative reviews for the windjammer, but I thought the windjammer was excellent!  Good food and a lot to choose from.  Sometimes it gets crowded, but we always found a seat within a few minutes.  Just be patient.  The pools were good.  There is 2 main pools and 1 adult pool.  The adult pool and one of the main pools is a very comfortable temperature. The other pool is a little chilly.  The activities are fun to watch.  We enjoyed the belly flop contest.  The slides were good but slow.  Hardly any lines.  Our favorite slide was the tube slide.  It was a rush.  The flow rider was a blast!  We did the knee board, rather than the surfing.  If you want to try something different, and you're a bit active, this is for you.  We saw all ages and sizes on the flow rider.  You need to sign a waver, but you can do that on royal carribean website.  Then pick up your wristband up by the flowrider.  Rock wall was pretty sweet too!  Putt putt golf, shuffleboard and the sports court were also a lot of fun!  All of the shows were very good!  Saturday night fever, the ice skating show, Nathan Osmond and the comedy were among my favorites.  There is also a free skate on the rink that is really fun.

In Roatan, we took a cab right off the boat ($60 for the entire day).  We went to a park with monkeys and other animals.  We got to hold the monkeys and take pictures.  It was $10 each to get into the park, and we had a guide for about 30 minutes.  Pretty sweet.  They also had a botanical garden there. After that we went to west beach, on the other side of the island.  The beach was great, but so many people crowding the beach trying to sell stuff.  The best part of the beach was we walked down about a 1/2 mile to the end of the beach (by the cliffs) and rented some snorkel gear for $5-$10 and snorkeled the reaf.  Really good snorkeling there!!!!

Our favorite excursion was in Belize.  It was cave tubing.  Go to cavetubing.bz.  It's $50 for a 5 hour excursion, and you get a really good meal with it.  The tour guides were excellent.  We are always on a budget, so this was very affordable and a lot of fun!  It's #1 on trip adviser.  It also gives you a tour through belize city on your 1 hour ride to the caves.

In cozumel we rented a car right off the boat for $60.  Went directly to the san gervasio ruins.  Loved it!  Eguanas everywhere.  It was like $10 each to get in.  we did it without a tour guide, so we weren't tied down.  It was great.  Prices are negotiable at the shops for souvenirs.  After that, we drove the rest of the way around the island, ate lunch and found an awesome beach.

Jaaseen was our housekeeper. He was super awesome. He kept our room super clean and gave us good information about the ship. The cruise directer has a different sense of humor, but i liked it. Watch the morning show every morning for info on the upcoming day.

Ship tip

On the first day reserve a window seat at your time dining for the rest of the week.

Good review, pretty darned comprehensive AND comprehensible. Clearly you got aboard in the right frame of mind. What did you think of the chocolate desserts? I wish I could have taken the "freestyle dining" option three years ago. Instead, we were stuck at a table with people who were--a family and we were outsiders. What do you think in the video?

You can go to the third-floor on the back of the ship to make a reservation for dining(just before going into the restaurant). The first night we asked for a window seat at 5:30. We liked our seat and our waiters, so after dinner we reserved it for the rest of the week. You can make your reservations for dining as soon as you get on the ship. The fourth and fifth floor is also apart of the same restaurant but it is not "my time dining." I think you have assigned seats and times there.

Loved your review. With the "my time dinning" when do you make your reservations? Thanks for all the info. Annette
