Granny and Pops Ran Away by GrannyandPops

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise overall was great, the Ship was very clean and comfortable. Our dining was excellent, the dining staff took care of our every need and the food was very good. The weather was great for February, our second February cruise and weather was good for both.  Ports of Call - Cozumel and Falmouth were very good with only one or two other cruise ships in port at the same time and the shore excursion by RCCl were well organized.  However, George Town, Grand Cayman was a different story, small port of call and SEVEN cruise ships and we were tender to shore, see the problem, it was shoulder to shoulder.  All and All we had a great time and will do it again in the future.

First cruise in RC by Sandjy55

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

we loved the promenade on th ship. There were about 24 of us on the ship that were friends and this was a great place to meet up and visit.  The food was good in the dining room, buffet and the Italian restaurant but the steak house, Chops, was not good at all. The steak in the dining was better.  We loved Johnny Rockets and that was the Best Buy on the ship. The entertainment was great. The Texas Tenors were on the cruise and performed one night, they had an I e Show that was wonderful and the last night was the musical Saturday Night Fever which I loved.  Now the downside of the cruise:  we knew better but decided since we have been on 16 cruises to try an inside to save money.....I'll never do it again!  The room was very small but the service was great.  My biggest complaint was. The way their dining was set up. Anytime dining should be that!  It wasn't, if you didn't make a reservation you couldn't get a table until after 8.  And you couldn't eat in The anytime dining room unless you signed up for it. Our friends were at the 5:30 seating and that was the only dining room they could eat in.  Now don't get me wrong we had a great time and are glad we tried RC.  Any day cruising is better then working!!!!

Liberty of the Seas is a Wonderful Ship by remiiitx

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship and all of its amenities are the best part of the cruise.  Plenty of fun things to do during the day (I even did the Flow Rider and lived to tell about it) and activities at night.  For us the ship was the cruise. The ports visited were just a side show.  Roatan was beautiful and rustic but very small, We did not get off the ship in Belize.  Cozumel is always a big party.  We got off the ship, shopped in the very nice secure shopping mall and hit Jimmy Buffett's.

The only area we felt needed improvement was the "My Time Dining" in the Rembrandt Dining Room.  The personnel were nice and enthusiastic but really appeared to lack proper training and organization.  With so many people going to "My Time" is was chaotic.   We also ate at Chops Grille twice.  It is great. A real treat.

Liberty of the Seas cruise by vicstictok

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall this was a good cruise. This ship is geared more for kids & there was a lot of them (early February who would guess). The ship did keep them out of the Solarium though. The food was very good and as always the crew was great. As for the ports. Cozumel is nice as it always is. Belize just does not have much to offer, we did the Calypso Train Tour that goes all around the area. It was ok but just not much to see. Glad we did stop but would not go again. Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras was the best part of the trip. We did the glass bottom boat/submarine & it was one of the best tour I have been on. The island really is beautiful. Only really bad thing was leaving the ship in Galveston. It took forever. Worst experience we have had on any ship on any cruise line. There was fog that delayed our arrival to Galveston but this problem was much worse than that. From talking to the porters this happens a lot with this ship.

Great days at sea by beadoug16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our rooms were quiet and well taken care of. We loved that there were ample deck chairs. On other cruises we've had to fight for them! And, of course, the food was plentiful and fantastic!   There is one area that needs serious improvement and that is disembarking procedures. There needs to be some kind of ticketing system for leaving the ship at port.  We were self-carry, arrived at the designated site 1/2 hour ahead of time and it took us four hours to get off the ship and through customs because there was very poor organization of who should get off first, next, etc.

Beautiful ship but the new beds are what I call plywood beds by texascruiser001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise ship was very beautiful. . We had a good time with our friends. I went on this ship about nine months ago and we had different beds. They were very comfortable. So I was excited to go again. I took 4 couples with us and told them how comfortable the beds were. I was very upset when i laid down. They felt like a pice of plywood with a little padding over them. They were so bad that I had to get my room steward to make up the tiny couch for me. My poor husband endured it and went home with back problems a week later. My friends did the same thing. Had the couch made up. When you spend that much money you dont want to sleep on plywood. We were in rooms 6658 6656 6654 and 6660

No title. by Cruiser19879853

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Would not recommend royal carribean to anyone. Our excursions were cancelled and we were not notified of the cancellation until I went to the service desk and asked and they did not seem to want to give me an explanation. Our cruise was cut short and this shut down all shops and the casino.

Good price for a good trip by patrickhstorms

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I would recommend this cruise to people that travel several times a year.  It is a very nice ship with excellent crew members.  Food was very good.  Entertainment was not up to the level of RC.  To much country western music.  Since I've been to all of these ports, I not longer do any excursions.  However, I do stretch my legs at each port by walking around the cruise line's shore stores.  Again, I wanted 7 days of good food, plenty of relaxation and awesome weather; my trip was just what I wanted.  PS

Great cruise by royhldn233

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time on the Liberty of the Seas.  Had excellent service from the staff. We've booked our next cruise while on the ship.  Our favorite places on the ship was Vintages where we met Singh, he has a wealth of information about wine and life.  From the first day he remembered our wine preference. Then there was Boleros where Natalia taught us how to make the best mohitos she was an absolute joy.

Information on our 7 day Cruise by Cruiser9884446

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Food was great, also had wonderful waiters. Shows were excellent. Cabins were ok, but curtains needed to be repaired, sun was shinning thru the curtains. We will try Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines again and try to book on a newer ship. Photos were too expensive all our other cruise had 5 x 7 we did not want all the 8x 10s.  Thanks for all the Good Things.

Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The on board experiences were great.  Good food, excellent food, and exceptional services.  The on board entertainment was outstanding.  The stops at Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica fun and entertaining.  The bookings through cruise.com were also spot on.  If you haven't taken this cruise do it.

Beautiful Ship!! Great Cruise! by ryanmetcalf

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Liberty is a very nice ship.  The part that stands out to me is the promenade.  That is the main mall type walking area down the middle of the ship.  It's 4-5 stories tall.  There are shops and places to eat.  Two of which are free to eat at.  Sorrentos and the promenade cafe.  I really like the pizza at sorrentos.  The other free places to eat on the ship are the windjammer and the main dining area.  In the main dining area at (your time dining), you can make reservations for whatever time you want and whatever seat you want.  We enjoyed a window seat every evening.  The menu changed every night, with some things staying the same.  It was a really good verity for a 7 day cruise.  Before my cruise, I saw some negative reviews for the windjammer, but I thought the windjammer was excellent!  Good food and a lot to choose from.  Sometimes it gets crowded, but we always found a seat within a few minutes.  Just be patient.  The pools were good.  There is 2 main pools and 1 adult pool.  The adult pool and one of the main pools is a very comfortable temperature. The other pool is a little chilly.  The activities are fun to watch.  We enjoyed the belly flop contest.  The slides were good but slow.  Hardly any lines.  Our favorite slide was the tube slide.  It was a rush.  The flow rider was a blast!  We did the knee board, rather than the surfing.  If you want to try something different, and you're a bit active, this is for you.  We saw all ages and sizes on the flow rider.  You need to sign a waver, but you can do that on royal carribean website.  Then pick up your wristband up by the flowrider.  Rock wall was pretty sweet too!  Putt putt golf, shuffleboard and the sports court were also a lot of fun!  All of the shows were very good!  Saturday night fever, the ice skating show, Nathan Osmond and the comedy were among my favorites.  There is also a free skate on the rink that is really fun.

In Roatan, we took a cab right off the boat ($60 for the entire day).  We went to a park with monkeys and other animals.  We got to hold the monkeys and take pictures.  It was $10 each to get into the park, and we had a guide for about 30 minutes.  Pretty sweet.  They also had a botanical garden there. After that we went to west beach, on the other side of the island.  The beach was great, but so many people crowding the beach trying to sell stuff.  The best part of the beach was we walked down about a 1/2 mile to the end of the beach (by the cliffs) and rented some snorkel gear for $5-$10 and snorkeled the reaf.  Really good snorkeling there!!!!

Our favorite excursion was in Belize.  It was cave tubing.  Go to cavetubing.bz.  It's $50 for a 5 hour excursion, and you get a really good meal with it.  The tour guides were excellent.  We are always on a budget, so this was very affordable and a lot of fun!  It's #1 on trip adviser.  It also gives you a tour through belize city on your 1 hour ride to the caves.

In cozumel we rented a car right off the boat for $60.  Went directly to the san gervasio ruins.  Loved it!  Eguanas everywhere.  It was like $10 each to get in.  we did it without a tour guide, so we weren't tied down.  It was great.  Prices are negotiable at the shops for souvenirs.  After that, we drove the rest of the way around the island, ate lunch and found an awesome beach.

7 day cruise - Roatan, Belize, Cozumel by chrislaberge

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Nice cruise. Did not care for Belize too much as the ship could not dock near port and excursion there the carriage city tour was a joke. The tour stopped at a museum for 15 minutes which our guide skimmed through. We then made it to halfway point and were suppose to switch from carriage to van and this never happened. Got back in another horse drawn carriage and in stead of the second 1/2 of the tour we got a repeat of the first half including the museum (we refused)

Beautiful Weather!!! by powersl1224

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was the most beautiful weather for a January cruise to the Caribbean!!!!  The crew were wonderful, Jessica, Angel and Nikki were the best.  Room was always clean and dinner in the main dining room was catered by our likes after the first night!!  They sure know how to treat us well.  The Ice Show, Saturday Night Live and Finale were great.

Another cruise is a must!!!

Royal Carribbean Cruising by celticfrog

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I loved that it wasn't just very old - or very young people on board. This cruise ship (Liberty of the Seas) has activities for every generation - everyone is made to feel welcome, and not invaded by certain age groups. Also, the entertainment was great and included country, rock, classical, and Big Band music. Shows included magic, Broadway, aerial, comedy, and more. The dining room staff was excellent.

my only negative is the menu items are limited and repeating, but nevertheless very tasty.Love

Big ship. Fine for families with children and teens. Not so much for mature adults. by dcgeneral434

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We are mature adults who have been cruising for 40 years. Our ideal cruise is excellent ship service, cleanliness and cabin choice in order to relax on our cabin balcony, enjoy main dining room meals with excellent service and menu choice, accompanied by top live entertainment and beverage choices throughout the ship, and cabin TV news and ship programing. Itinerary doesn't matter so long as the ship doesn't tender in ports. Liberty of the Seas delivers well on all these wants, but for older cruisers such as ourselves, young folk with high energy is a distraction. Easy and swift Port embarkation and debarkation is a must for us. Unfortunately Galveston needs some help in providing this want.
