Review summary

I was last on Liberty for back-to-back cruises in 2014. The ship seems a bit dated since then. Still nice, but not as good as what I remember.

We didn't wait in line and walked right on the ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The MDR evening menu options were often poor for most American tastes. The buffet quality was excellent. MDR entries were often of poor quality- ex. Chicken Parmigiana turkey dinner. Vegetables were often not cooked, closer to raw than al dente. Gluten-free offerings were second rate.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
It is hard to form any kind of relationship with a cabin steward when one sees that person once a day, if at all.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It was hard to enjoy the Solarium because of the presence of second hand smoke from the port side of the ship. The doors between the Solarium and the aft part of the ship appeared to be non-functioning- they never closed.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cleanliness was OK, not great, but OK. The shower had two defects, one of which the cabin steward attempted to address on the afternoon of day 8

Ship tip

There are limited comfortable seats on Decks 11 and 12. Get there early and claim yours.
