Review summary

Was an Ok cruise but got Covid while onboard. Only had around 1300 passengers for a ship that holds around 4200. No bands by the pools...first time that has happened. Food and entertainment was less than expected.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Lack of passengers making Embarkation easier.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was not up to par with pass cruises.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
First time that there was no band at the pool side. Other entertainment was subpar.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Only one comedian. One band...just a lack of activities due to Covid problems.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff was great but seemed short staffed. We met the Serenade of the Seas twice in seven days. Believe some infected staff left and maybe some healed folks boarded. Was told the Serenade is one of three RCCL ships being used to house Covid infected RCCL crew.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship is past due for upgrading...was cancelled because of the Covid outbreak. Crew does a good job keeping it sanitized.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Good size room and balcony. Steward was great.

Ship tip

Can't recommend sailing until this Omicron gets under control.

Ports of call

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

3 out of 5
Must take an excursion.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Again, suggest an excursion.

Cozumel, Mexico

Was on January 16, 2022 sailing of Liberty of Seas. My significant other tested positive for Covid on Saturday January 22, 2022. We were Back to Back and I tested negative. They made us stay in room all day Saturday and told us we had to disembark on Sunday January 23,2022. The ship personnel came to get us around 6:30 am and walked us to service elevators and were taken to a room with about 35 other passengers who were Covid positive. We were kept in the room for over an hour and finally got off ship then put in separate part of cruise terminal and our plastic-wrapped luggage was delivered. I felt penalized and did not have a good feeling about the treatment. We finally left around 9:00 am. I have a very bad taste in my mouth after the way Royal Caribbean basically treated us like pariahs. No fond memories of this cruise on Liberty of the Seas.

Glad it turned out okay...even much better you didn't meet your demise because of Covid. Stay safe!

Sounds like the ship went downhill since your December trip.
