Review summary

This was my first time to cruise on Royal. I'm not too sure I would choose them again, unless I received it free.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Much quicker than I expected

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was nothing to brag about. In fact, we chose to eat the buffet 4 out of 7 nights.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Loved the adult only pool and spa

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The games we played were fun, but the prizes weren't. The comedians on Saturday night were hilarious.

Children's Programs

No chikdren

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Nita, was WONDERFUL! And the rest of the staff were so efficient and super friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
I didn't like the fact that all of the shows were on either end of the ship. It would be better centrally located.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect

Ship tip

Be prepared to have to pay way more than you planned for. A regular soda package was $111.00 per person. We were told by that we had an on board credit if $750.00 because of the cancellations, but that was false. In fact, my husband didn't even have his normal $50.00 credit.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

4 out of 5
Private resort was nice, just not what it looked like on photos , and not enough time.

Cozumel, Mexico

Disembarkation

We cruised on the second post Covid19 startup cruise on Liberty of the Seas, in October '21. We really love the Freedom and Voyager class Royal Caribbean ships and even though there were a few startup differences, we thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. I agree with earlier comment that 4 out of 5 is a good rating, if compared to pre-covid19 cruises, but we took that into account and would give 5 stars for most of the experiences and an overall 5. Consider that with a few restart things that were not perfect that there were reduced capacity things that were better than pre-covid19 cruises, unless you like the energy from crowds. We enjoyed the lack of crowding, the great service, and the amazingly smooth and fast embarkation and debarkation compared to pre-covid19 cruises.

I have been on RC 4 different times and on 4 different ships including Liberty but not since Covid hit and hope things haven’t changed to the worst as we have a cruise schedule next month on the Liberty. Thanks for your review.

The Liberty was our first Royal cruise. We felt like it was the perfect first Royal experience for us. Just my husband and I, late 30's. In October of 2019. We only ate in the dining room the first night, I agree with you that it wasn't all that great.

Glad you enjoyed it with 4 out of 5 stars being about the best you can expect during Covid. We’ve always had a great experience with Royal Caribbean.
