Review summary

Our first cruise - I have never experienced relaxation like this before - no worries - no stress. Loved it

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Two words - The Key! Awesome experience - in my opinion worth every penny!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main Dining and the one specialty restaurant we did eat at (Giovanni's) were excellent. The buffet was - well a buffet although a very good one. I would recommend utilizing My Time Dining as well as going at off peak times.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We were never at a loss for something to do. In fact there were things we wanted to do but couldn't get to - a LOT of options...

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shoes were very entertaining.

Children's Programs

No kids on this cruise for us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was top notch. Very friendly and personable staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It is an older ship but still very nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was great. The only downside was the bed was VERY firm - caused us both to have a backache every morning.

Ship tip

A few tips - 1) research the shore excursions and typical shipboard activities before your cruise date. 2) Go to the early show then go to dinner - less busy at dinner and no rush to get to the show. 3) take advantage of The Key and drink packages - purchase before hand.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas Did not visit port

Went straight from/to Houston to the ship.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
We really liked Roatan - much less commercialized than Cozumel. Local handmade stuff. Yes - glass bottom boat, very interesting.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
We liked it but didn't have much time in port due to our excursion. A good mix of shopping - still had a selection of handmade goods.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
The excursion was great - more Mayan ruins. Port was very commercialized - too many jewelry, skin care and tequila shops - yuck. Local hand made goods were minimal and generally not something I would put in my home - what little there was there was generally vulgar.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Once again - The Key - no stress breakfast followed by an escort past the lines to get off.

Good tip, rent a car in a Cozumel and go around the island, very scenic and dope private beaches
