Review summary

I have taken several cruises. The larger ship has more activities, but crowded and hard to engage. I think it is personal preference.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Long and redundant lines prior the boarding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The buffet was bland. I tried to get the pasta bar one day for lunch, waited 20 minutes in line and finally gave up. The specialty Mexican restaurant was fabulous. The waiter we had to leave in there was exceptional. Tried to get the pizza several times but the lines were too long, once we were able to get it, the pizza was excellent.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We did trivia, the venue was much too small for the amount of people. People were standing all around. We played bingo, it usually started very late as they would sell cards for over an hour. Then explain and talk amongst themselves between calls. We did enjoy the Christmas carols and tree lighting.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We tried to go to an ice skating show. It was too crowded couldn’t find a seat.

Children's Programs

No children in our party.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward was highly visible and very friendly. He was excellent. Other staff on the ship were hit or miss. Some were friendly and other just going through the motions.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was well maintained and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was nice and large had plenty for f storage. Had wall sized window. Typically we get a balcony, but this still have us wonderful views.

Ship tip

Its big and crowded, you feel like you are indoors.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas Did not visit port

Drove in for cruise.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Loved Roatan. We did a local tour that included shopping, and a trip to the money and sloth park. We were able to hold the sloth and monkeys for pictures. Really fun experience. Our driver took us to several shops and local sites. Very nice outing.

Belize City, Belize

2 out of 5
We attempted to do an excursion but was decided against it once on shore. No nearby available beaches. Too commercial, lots of people. Shops said they would take credit cards but then wanted you to go to other shops far away for processing. Vendors not very friendly or helpful, just pushing their overpriced products.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Have been to Cozumel in the past. Booked snorkeling trip once on shore. Nice guide and beautiful spots for snorkeling. Enjoyable day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy disembarkation,Luggage waiting when we arrived.

I think a cruise is successful if you go with an open mind and go with the flow.

We enjoyed our cruise on the Liberty and going a 2nd time in November.

You chose to cruise during the busiest time of the year and seem shocked when it is crowded. If you don't take an excursion you won't see much.

Cruising during the busiest time of year probably added to some of the issues. Try cruising when school is in session for a better experience.
