Review summary

A wonderful experience overall. My review is perhaps jaded as I prefer holidays off the beaten track. I hate crowds and cruising involves being in crowded conditions. It’s the nature of the beast 😉

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Pros - 8PM Scheduled dinner time was the best meal of the day. The selection and quality of the food were superb! Our waiters Courtney and Rohan couldn’t have been more attentive! Some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. Cons - Windjammer. Good food but it was like a visit to the zoo. So many people that finding a table was extremely difficult. Then facing the crowds to get to the food made you feel as if you were fighting for your last meal!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The shows were wonderful! Most of the other activities weren’t enjoyable for me as there were too many people.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I couldn’t get over how amazingly friendly everyone in the shop was. Every staff member bent over backwards to help you with a smile! Our room steward was fantastic. She kept our room pristine!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was definitely clean but I found it a little “old fashioned “ I think it needs a remodel. Many of the doors going out onto the decks didn’t work properly. I know the wind was strong at times but the doors automatic doors need some serious work.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin is tiny and the bathroom is even tinier. You just have to expect that in the lower price range on a cruise. But the sound proofing between cabins was terrible! I could hear every conversation in the cabin that adjoined ours and as their TV was on that wall, I “watched” TV with them. One night at 1AM, I banged on their wall As I couldn’t sleep.

Ship tip

It’s a wonderful experience with incredible service and food. Make sure you love being in crowds though!

Go snorkeling off a Catamaran! Wonderful.

Falmouth, Jamaica

The port is the prettiest when you pull in. The place itself was very unfriendly. Very few smiles. The beach club we went to was noisy and dirty with terrible food!

Why do you put yourself through this, if you don't like crowds. Cruising is probably not for you and there is no shame in that. A vacation with fewer people would probably make you much happier.

I’m glad you enjoyed the cruise. I don’t know if this was your first cruise but the cabins are not huge. If you want more room you would need to go to a suite. And as far as buffet it is what it is. We try to be there early for breakfast if a Sea Day and a little later on Port days unless we need to be off the ship early. We also find a table before we get our food so we know we have a place to sit.

Glad you enjoyed it. I’m not sure how much you have cruised, but the Windjammer / Buffet is hectic and crowded on most cruise lines at breakfast and lunch. As far as the cabin size, your cabin was 160 sq ft, Which is fairly typical for most standard rooms on many cruise lines. Royal has some that are 115-125 sq ft. Carnival tends to have cabins that are a little larger, averaging 185 sq ft for standard rooms. If you want something larger, you will usually need to book a suite, although Royal does have some Outside View Ultra Spacious rooms that are around 345 sq ft.

Windjammer IS what you make of it. Yes it is crowded, sometimes so you'd think you were in a 3rd country... However, that being said, it also makes a difference when you go to Windjammer. The best food is available when they first open. After that it's the same as when they first opened, but it's been picked over and through, so you're not getting the best selection. ALL that being said, we still love Windjammer and ALL the eataries on board. Sorrento's is s great place when on thx Promenade. We love the Liberty and all her crew and yes she looks a little outdated, BUT, so am I... LOL 😆 So we fit each other just fine. As a matter of fact, we love Liberty so much that my beautiful bride and I are doing a back to back starting April 26 ending May 10 to include our 35th anniversary. What better way to celebrate your anniversary, than be at Sea on your favorite ship with your best friend for life!! The best of both worlds!! Cya on board!! 🚢
