Review summary

My husband and I loved the Liberty. The staff was amazing. They were always helpful and so friendly. We loved our balcony room. The ship never felt crowded to me. We always had good seats at the shows and by the pool. Food was good. I felt like I was on a date with my husband every night. Dinner and then drinks and a show. This was our first cruise and as soon as we got home we booked our next cruise.

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and we were across the street from the beach. We rented a car and drove to a restaurant with an outside deck overlooking the ocean. There was a good band playing so it was fun.

We went on a Carnival excursion. It was the snorkeling at Island beach club. We went snorkeling and my kids also went zip lining. I would recommend the snorkeling only for beginners because there wasn’t much to see and we had to stay with the guide. It was my kids first time so it was perfect for them. After the snorkel tour you can hang out at their beach club all day. They have a nice pool and restaurant.

We took the Royal Caribbean excursion to the Mayan Princess resort. It was so beautiful. The water was clear and snorkeling was great. Their pool was pretty with waterfalls. Tons of lounge chairs by the pool in the shade and the waitress would come by to take your drink orders. It also included all you can drink and a buffet.

We went to Maya Chan beach. It included all you can drink and eat. Food was delicious. We swam in the pool because of the sea grass but we still enjoyed ourselves.

They open security at 9:30. You will be in the lounge in 15 to 20 minutes. Boardning normally starts around 11. You still have the wait, but we prefer to wait in the lounge instead of in line.

The restaurant was the tipsy turtle seaside bar and grill. I just looked it up and it says it will be closed until March 1, 2020.
