Review summary

It’s a cruise and you know that it’ll be fun simply because of that. I’m rating this as a 3 as this ship has got some serious cleanliness issues. We found mold and dirt on portions of the ship. A lot of the extras that would normally be on a ship were broken. The kids arcade had maybe 4 working machines, the ice cream is served in one location and it is not an easy one to get to, the excursion desk was not helpful when we had a last minute cancellation, the entertainment was terrible. The good - the main dining room staff reminded of the service I used to receive 10-15 years ago. They were awesome. The stateroom steward was a nice guy, and was rarely seen. The debarkation of this cruise was an absolute cluster. Brian the Cruise Director was pedantic, and lacked any personality. It felt as if the ship was just on ‘cruise’ control

I have to agree with some of their points. Ice cream machine though is not in bad location. It's at the pool. I found the ship clean overall although every night in men's toilet at night club the floor was soaked with water and urine all night. Perhaps the attendant clocks out at midnight. Agree cruise director sucked. Debarkation was horrible. Comedian was funny. Other entertainment so so. Total lack of any effort to plan any daytime programming. The entire daytime schedule is bull💩. Mainly sales events. Nightlife was decent for a Galveston sailing. I think overall Royal needs to revamp its approach to cruise directing, day time programming and some innovations. They are too reliant on the same template.
