Review summary

Great vacation! Can't wait to do another one hopefully next year!

Embarkation

Great! I had knee surgery prior to the trip so I was using a walker, and the RC folks were very helpful in getting us through.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate in the main dining room every night. The Maître D' for our area, Gerald, was so helpful in coordinating vegan meals for my daughter. The wait staff, Igede and Oswald, were also great and made us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was fantastic! We ate breakfast in the Windjammer and they had a nice layout of good food. The staff monitoring the eating areas were very friendly and good to give us more beverages when needed. We ate a lot of pizza from the Sorrento's Pizza on the 5th level. It was also great. But I would be remiss if I didn't mention the Cupcake Cupboard also on the 5th level. Their Peanut Butter Cupcakes are absolutely to die for! I wish they had a store here in Houston!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I was limited on the onboard activities with the knee surgery, but I did use the Spa for a massage and facial. It was very relaxing and the staff there were very accommodating. I went by the Fitness Center, hoping that there was a "seated stepper" machine, but there wasn't one.

Entertainment

Didn't go to any. My daughter went to the movies at night and loved that, but it wasn't noted as being included in this part.

Children's Programs

No children under 21.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room Steward was Juan (#1 Juan). He was EXCELLENT. Had an extension cord for my CPAP machine before I even entered the cabin. The other stewards we encountered were also very friendly, always having a smile on their faces when we would pass them in the hall. Maître D'- Gerald. He was also EXCELLENT. Again, making sure my Vegan daughter ate delicious Vegan food. Waitstaff Igede and Oswald were very good, and made us look forward to being pampered at dinner.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I like that it's a smaller ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The first time we went on a cruise, I was in an interior room and felt pretty cramped, and the bathroom was very small for me. This cruise spoiled me with the small balcony that was able to open up to my friends traveling with us, as well as the larger bathroom. I'll probably always request this room, because for me, it was perfect along with a perfect steward to take care of us!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas Did not visit port

Home base for cruise. I'm from Houston.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

My daughter went to the beach and loved it!

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
My daughter went to the beach and was disappointed that the water wasn't very clear, not as clear as the water where I was looking off of the balcony at Bubba Gumps, Senior Frog's and Margaritaville.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again, very accommodating personnel
