Review summary

We really enjoyed! This was the biggest ship we ever were on. I am now weighing the big ship/more to do vs smaller ship/less crowd for our next cruise. Loved the stuff to do on the ship. Overall we would do again. We got on board ship, unpacked, had a drink, went to dinner. We bought the fine dining option and went to mostly the steak house (3 times), and Italian (1 time) on our days at sea. We did 3 of the best excursions I have ever done. First in Cozumel we went to the caves on the mainland. Next was Stingray city in Grand Caymen. Lastly, we went to swim with the dolphins in Jamaica. 7 days was just about right. Not sure if I could do more and less doesn't seem enough. My son and I did about everything we could on the ship - game room, rock climbing, water slides(they were really bad), surf rider, raft ride, shuffleboard, hot tub. My wife, son, and I went to almost all the shows and the ice show (which was outstanding), the piano bar(almost every night). I am amazed how the crew can feed and take care of that many passengers! Kudos to them all!!!

Embarkation

Very good. Lines moved fast and easy. Staff was friendly and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining rooms were very nice. Buffet area was so-so. Food was adequate for a buffet. Specialty restaurants were great and we did them for 4 nights. I highly recommend the specialty dining!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did many of the activities. A list of following and good / bad rating. 1. Fitness center - very good, clean and spacious 2. Rock climbing wall - very good 3. Pool slides - terrible - both my son and I could not even get down them. They were either poorly engineered or not enough water to push us down. Very disappointed! 4. Raft slide - that was really fun!!! 5. Surf Ridge - really fun!!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were pretty good. Lots of comedy shows it seemed. Enjoyed them and the ice show was very good.

Children's Programs

My son is 9 and seems to like to hang around with us for some reason.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service was good, everyone was cordial and friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship design was cool. Loved the inner promenade deck was really nice. The layout was great and signage good to get where you need to go. The carpeting was old in our room and needed updating. Overall the ship was great.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin could have been a little bigger. Carpet was dated somewhat and worn. Drapes were dirty. Beds were comfy and we all slept well. Storage for clothes was good!

Ship tip

The fine dining is a great option and food is excellent!!!!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas Did not visit port

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We did an excursion to the caves and went right to it and didn't visit in town much.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
Again we went on an excursion and did not visit much in town. Stingray city was fantastic!!!

Falmouth, Jamaica

3 out of 5
Falmouth was unbelievable !!! New shops in beautiful brick buildings. Then we also did an excursion and saw the rest of the area and it was poor and blighted.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Fast and efficient. I thought it would be easy to pick up an Uber, Lyft, or cab from there but NO. We had an awful time getting transportation to the airport.
