Nice but not as nice as last year. Run of the mill cruise companies seemingly keep cheapening the experience and nickle and diming. Two sail away drinks $25. They encourage the drink packages. Not sure needing 9 drinks a day to get $$$ worth is way to go. Have gone on a cruise at least once the last 7 years (fortunate I know) but will look for something else for next spring break.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Went on this same ship one year prior. Food quality and selection have been dumbed down. The “prime rib” on formal night two was inedible. To be fair the main dining room breakfasts were good and service was generally good. Formal nights are not what they once were. Dress codes have been dumbed down and not enforced, ie shorts, jeans. At one time they would not let you in. The second formal night was practically non existent. Recommend only having one formal night and making it special.
Onboard Activities

Facilities still nice. Did see two “fights” over leaving towels and someone else taking them. Standard is supposed to be 30 minutes but folks who wanted the chairs complained and stuff got moved. When folks came back 15 to 20 minutes later they were not happy. Staff should not take the word of someone with ulterior motives. Recommend the 30 minute clock doesn’t start until a complaint is made or staff determines before removing. Seems like they could monitor better. Device on empty chair. The irony was that three chairs that had towels on them went unoccupied for well over 3 hours.
Entertainment

Saturday Night Fever and Rock band Private Stock were awesome.
Service and Staff

Room attendant Hector was exceptional. My Time dining was generally okay but have had better waiters. Cruise director was a pro. Nice touch meeting with vets and being in line to greet folks on their way off the ship to thank them. He seems to still like his job.
Ship Quality

Design is great. Better than Princess. Ship is getting tired in spots but still nice
Cabin / Stateroom

No complaints. Hector was great and it is a place to sleep, shower and read. Not here for the cabin unlike the Med.
Ship tip
Galveston has a lot of partiers that take full advantage of their drink packages!
Took a very active snorkeling trip with the starfish. More work than prior trips but they warn you with “waivers”! The crew were almost all PADI trained and excellent. Saw a lot of different species including a Barracuda.
Paying for alcoholic drinks is nickel and dime behavior? Pretty standard fare (always has been) you really don’t need 9 drinks to break even on the drink package.
