Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All areas were very good. Our waiters, Pedro and assistant Catalino did an exceptional job of serving on time, correctly, and with a joyful attitude. They were very conscious of the special needs of some of the eight ladies, remembered preferences, and gave good advice on choices for the meals. They were a joy to have met, and were fun to visit with, and they did their jobs professionally and very well. I would love to have them at my table again, as workers, or as friends.

Onboard Activities

I would like to see a few activities during the day for "older" folks. A foods class, a bingo game for adults only, something..............

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was polite, helpful, and effective at their jobs. We did not run into anyone who did a poor job.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything is clean and well maintained. Because people are taking the hand washing seriously, there were many stations for sanitizing one's hands that were out of product. The casino is one of the few places people can smoke, and those who don't smoke and have to walk through it are knocked over by the stench. Couldn't you provide a place, out of the wind, for smokers outside, so that your ship would be safer and people could breathe better all through the ship? Also, being a slot player, I know that the casino is a seperate company, but their choice of new machines is awful. Those of us who play, and I am "prime" (I will stay for hours if they let me win a little or I am entertained), like the old style machines where we can figure out what is happening and how the machine pays off. The new video type machines may appeal to young kids, but it is the older, retired crowd that has the bucks to waste playing the machines. Also, there a very few drink people wandering about, and one is reluctant to leave the machine to go to the bar for a drink. Because of the use of the slots, their cleanliness is as important as the brass banisters. When I go to a land casino, there are people constantly coming to the machines and wiping them down, to keep the germs from finding a home. I never saw that done in the ships casino. The ship is easy to navigate, although the passage is tight in several spaces......like the Schooner Bar, the casino, and the main dining room between tables.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This cabin is excellent and especially for the eight people I have been bringing, as they like to stay in the cabin and play board games and read. The "coolers" are a joke. The one in the living room is always hot on the outside of the door and very hot inside.......its "cool" part inside the unit itself is barely below room temperature. It is a waste of space. It is as though the engineers that installed it do not understand that it needs good ventilation to not get hot.........personally we think it could be a fire hazard and my ladies this time insisted the decorative door (that they removed and added three more useless decorative vents) stay open and they propped it open with a pillow all the time. It did not work, and we used the better quality refrigeration in the bar on the patio. Since the patio one actually works, we think you are wasting time and space to have the heat generating machine below the bar in the living room. The carpet in this room is beginning to be a bit worn. Our room Steward Derit ?.......can't remember the spelling......did a great job.

Ship tip

Wear good walking shoes. Get to the ice show at least 30 minutes early for the best seats, even if you have reserved seats. Read the ships paper each night so that you do not forget to attend something.
