Review summary

We really enjoyed this cruise. We prefer the larger ships but we wanted to see Belize. Everything was amazing. Although there were a few snags, nothing major and nothing to keep us from cruising again and nothing to keep us from cruising on Liberty of the Seas.

Embarkation

All was good until my luggage didn't show up to my room. For some reason my bag was tagged for liquids but all I had in my bag was trial sizes, nothing was full size and it was all toiletries. When I showed up to get it they asked me what was in there and I told them and they let me go. I didn't even have to open my bag so I'm not sure why it was tagged. Everything turned out ok but that was a little frustrating.

I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. I start getting congested immediately. There were designated places to smoke, which is fine, I just didn't go there. But a couple of times we had to walk through the casino to get to another location and you could smell the smoke outside the casino in places that were supposed to be smoke free. It would be nice if there were some kind of sliding door to the casino that kept the smoke contained inside the casino. It's not a deal breaker but for someone like me where it's a health issue, something should be done.

Ship tip

I guess this would be a general tip for all RCCL ships. If you schedule shore excursions and have to tender to shore they only cater to those who scheduled their excursions through RCCL to make sure they get to shore in time. If you used an outside company, you need to be in line early to get your tender tickets so you are first on the tender (depending on what time your excursion meeting time is) otherwise you run the risk of missing your excursion.

This was our first time to tender. It wasn't my favorite but not a deal breaker. We had to do a little extra planning regarding our shore excursions since we didn't book them through RCCL and they only cater to those who did in getting them to shore on time.
